## OUR AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

Alconbury Primary School Governor’s Charity mission is to support Alconbury CofE Primary School in achieving its Christian vision _“Teach Children how they should live and they will remember it all their lives” – Proverb 22.6_ . This means ensuring that Alconbury CofE Primary School pupils are put on the pathway to achieving their potential, both in terms of their academic career and in their role as a member of society. Our aspiration is that our children are people that would be proud of the contribution they make and that others would be proud to call their friend.

It has two charitable principle aims ; these are firstly to advance the education of pupils of Alconbury CofE Primary School and secondly to promote the well-being of pupils of Alconbury CofE Primary School.

The Charity raises funds through direct donations to the school and through accessing grants.

What the Charity Funds:

1. Expenditure outside of normal school infrastructure funding provided by the Local Authority of Government;

2. Equipment or interventions to enhance and support learning;

3. Interventions to support well-being of pupils.

What the Charity will not fund:

1. Any type of School infrastructure normally funded by the Education Authority, e.g., new buildings or maintenance of new or existing buildings including upgrades to school infrastructure such as central heating systems etc. ;

2. Normal / routine staff training courses;

3. General expenses attributable to the normal running of a school e.g. utility bills, purchase of standard textbooks normally bought by the school etc.

The Charity continues to be overseen by Trustees and Members as part of its governance process. Trustees undertake the day to day running of the Charity.
