Objectives and Activities

SORP reference
Summary of the purposes of
the charity as set out in its
governing document
Para 1.17 The objects of the Church are:
the advancement of the Christian
faith in accordance with the
Evangelical Alliance Basis of Faith,
both in the UK and Worldwide
Such other charitable purposes as
shall, in the opinion of the charity
trustees further the work of the
Church.
Summary of the main
activities in relation to those
purposes for the public
benefit, in particular, the
activities, projects or services
identified in the accounts.
Para 1.17 and
1.19
Our first object is the advancement of the
Christian faith. We do so by regular
church activities including Sunday
Services and other services such as
prayer meetings. These meetings include
praise and worship, prayer, sermons
teaching the bible and bible verse
memorisation. All these activities help
the congregation advance their Christian
Faith and learn more about the faith and
the Christian Gospel.
Our second object is furthering the work
of the church and we have a postcard
ministry where we design, print and
distribute a ‘postcard’ sized card talking
about a particular aspect of life and the
Christian faith. These postcards contain
an invitation to any of the church
services and over a thousand are
distributed by the church members to the
immediate neighbourhood surrounding
the church.
We also advance the Christian Faith and
further the work of the church in general
by financially supporting missionaries in
a number of countries and here in the UK.
These are noted in our church accounts
Statement confirming Para 1.18 The church provides regular worship and
whether the trustees have
had regard to the guidance
issued by the Charity
Commission on public
benefit
all are welcome to these services. For
example the regular postcard ministry
includes an invitation to the church and
its regular services. In carrying out
these activities the church has careful
regard to the public benefit guidance
published by the Charity Commission.

Achievements and Performance

SORP reference
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
Para 1.20 The trustees wish to offer a welcoming
environment to all who attend our
services and have been successful in
welcoming several new local people into
the church. Our church services have a
variety of content and once a month at
least we offer an all age worship service
to particularly encourage young children
and involve them in church life.
The church helps mark important
milestones through life and conducted a
Wedding in July 2022. We have also
hosted and conducted a number of
funerals including lunches/teas
afterwards for the bereaved families. The
support to bereaved families does not

only include the funeral itself, but regular followups afterwards to check on their welfare. This kind of support is very important and benefits the families, helping them cope with the loss of a loved one and start to look forward. The trustees and other members of the church undertake regular visits to those members who are too frail to attend church in person, offering communion and a listening ear and support as required.
