It is the policy of the charity that unrestricted funds which have not been desi8nated for a specific use should be malntained at
a level eouivalent to between three and six month'5 expenditure. The trustees consider that reservès at this level will ensure
that. in the evenr of a 5i8niftcant tlrop in lunding, they will bè able to continve the chartty's Current activitieg while
onsideration is given to ways In which additional funds may be raised. This level of ￿SerVeS has been mainrained throu8hout
the year.

2011. In carrying out my examination I have followed the Directions 8iven by the Charity Commission under Section 1451Sllbl

and Reporting by Chorities.. Statement of Recornmended Pfactite issued on l April 2005 which is referred to in the extant
regularions but has now been withdrawn. l underst?nd that ihis h35 been done in order lor the financial statements to provide
true and fair view in a(COfdance with UK Generally Acctpted Accounting Practice.

The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the charl￿$ goverrting document, the Charities Act
2011, FRS 102 -The Financial Reportin8 Standard applicable In the UK antl Republic of Ireland" I'FRS 102-1 and the
Charities 50RP "Accounting and Reportin8 by Charilies.. Statement of Recofnmended Practice applicable to charitie5
peeparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic ol
Ireland IFRS 1021" (effective l January 20191. The charity is a Public Benefii Eniity as defined by FRS 102.
The charity has tsken advantage of the prO￿510n$ in the SORP for charities noi to prepare a Stattmènt ol Cash Flow5.
The financlal statements have departed Irom the Chafities IAc(ount5 and Reports) Regulations 2LXJ8 only to the extent
required to provide a tiue and fair view. Thi5 departure has lnvofved following the Statement of Recommended Practice
lor charities applying FRS 102 rather than the version of the Statement of Re(ommended Practice which is felerred to in
the Regulaiions but which has since been withdrawn.
The financial Statements are prepared in 5terlin& which is the functional currency of the charity. Monetary amounts in
these financial statement5 art rounded to the nearest £.
The linanclal starements have been prepared under the historical cost convention, Imodified to intlude the revaluation
ol frèthold properties and to include invesiment properries and certain financial instruments ai lalr valuel. The
principal a¢countin8 pollcies adopted are set out below.

Al the tirne of approvin8 the financial statèments. the trustees have a rèasonable expectation that the charity ha5
adequate re59urcÈs to continue in operational txistence for the foreseeable future. Thus rhe trustees continue to adopt
the 80in8 concern basis of accountin8 in preparingthe financial statemenrs.

Unrestfi£ted funds are available for use at the dixretH)n of the truMee5 in furtherance of thelf charitable object¢ves.
Restricted funds are Subject to specific conditions by donors or grantor5 as io how they rnay be used. The purposes and
Uses ol the restritted lund5 are set out in the note5 to the financbal statement5.
Efidowment funds arè subjett to specific conditions by donors that the cap*tal must be malntained by the charfrv.

Income Is ￿Ognised when the charity is legally entr¢led to it after any performance conditions have been met. the
mounts caD be rnea5ured reliably, and it is prOba￿e that income will be feceived.
Cash donations are ieco8nised on receipt. thher donations a￿ recognised once the charity has been notified of the
donation. unless perlormanie conditions require delerrèl of ihe amount. Income tax Xecoverable in relation to
donations received under Gift Aid or deed5 of covenant is recognised at the time of rhe donation.
Legacies are reco8nised on T￿e*￿t or otherwise if ihe charity has been notified of an impending distribution. the
amount is known. and receipt 15 expected. If the amount is not known. the legacy is treated as a contin8ent asset.

Expenditure is recognised once there is a legal or con5truttive obligation to transfei economic benefit to a third party, it
is probable that a transfer of economic benefits will be required in settlement. and the amount of the obli8ation can be
measured reliably.
Expenditure is tlassified by actr¥ity. ThÈ Costs of each activity are made up of the total of direct cost5 and shared costs.
including support costs involved in undertaking eath attivity. Oire(t costs attributable to a single activity are allocated
directly to that activity. Shared costs which contribute w morè than one activity and 5UPPOrt cost5 which are not
attributable to a single artivity are apportioned between those activities on a basss consistent with the use of resources.
Ctniral staff costs are alloc*efl on the basis of time spent, and depreclation chafges are allocatetl on the portion of the

1.6 Cash and cash equlv¥lents
Cash and cash equivalents include cash irt hand. deposits held at call with banks. other short-term liquld Investrnents
