## **- Al waffaa Madrasah Charity Report**

## **2023-24**

## **Opening statement.**

Since the foundation of our charity, year after year your support has enabled us to do the work that this charity was set out

to accomplish for the local community and beyond.

We thank all our donors for their physical and financial support; and with this we would like to present a breakdown of the work that we were able to accomplish in the financial year 2023-24.

**2022-23 to 2023-24**

If we make a comparison between the financial year 2022-23 to the last financial year 2023-24. We can see, that our charity in 2022-23 spent £243.64 in charity work; since then, in 2023-24 thanks to the help from all our supporters, we managed to help the people we set out to help by spending £1,775.32.

With your help we were able to spend 7 times more money than in the financial year 2022-23 and we intend to work harder and in the financial year 2024-25 to help more people and fulfil our promises to the people that depend upon us.

## **April 2023**

April 2023, was a productive month for our charity.

On the 13[th] of April, in Ramadan, we held our madrasah youth iftar dinner and Madrasah Tarawih prayers as well as physical

activities in the park (football, walks etc).

In this month, we responded to the plead of our brothers and sisters in Tanzania (Africa) in assisting the poor and needy with food packages.

## **Fun day/ Park Day**

As part of our Ramadan program, we made a fun day out to reward our students and to also engage with the local youth. this activity was only possible thanks to our volunteer and our supporters. Through this action, we organised football games, walks in the park as well as a relaxation time in the open at a local park. This activity was well received by our students and the attendees. In addition, this provided all the attendees a chance to socialise in a positive way with other young people, make new friends and to exercise in the open.

## **Ramadan Iftar & Tarawih**

Thanks to the support from parents and our donors, we were able to organise our Ramadan Iftar for our madrasah students, friends and young people in general. The event accommodated more than 100 young people and a verity of food and beverages were served in the event.

Following on from the madrasah Iftar, as part of our plan, we held Ishaa and Tarawih prayers led by students who are memorising the Qur’an. This part of the program has been designed to help students gain confidence in leading the prayer in a small group where they can be monitored, their practical abilities evaluated and feedback given; to enable students to truly reach their potentials.

## **Ramadan food Aid**

## **Africa (Tanzania)**

In the Ramadan of April 2023, our charity was able to support poor people in Tanzania (Africa) thanks to all the people who supported us in donations and in actions to help make the project possible.

Our project in Africa, helped those struggling to feed their families such as widows and orphans in villages. Our aid consisted our food packages which were calculated to feed families for a month.

The items in the food packages included: **Sugar, Wheat flour, Rice and Cooking oil** . With our food packages we were able to **feed a total of 30 families.**

## **October 2023**

In this month, thanks to the help of our donors, we were able to provide our students with a range of Islamic books such as the compilation of the “40 hadith of Imam Nawawi” and other books to help students learn about the Qur’an, to learn about the different forms of Islamic knowledge as well as teaching small students about the basics of Islam to benefit themselves and their

families.

## **Summary**

To conclude, Al-waffaa Madrasah charity would like to thank all its supporters, donors and all those who helped to ensure that we were able to reach new heights in the year 2023-24. Thanks to the efforts of everyone, we were able to help more people in need, provide better learning materials for our madrasah students, provide Ramadan entertainment opportunities for our students and the community at large.
