## **Structure, Governance, and Management** 

The Amir Jan Foundation is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) governed by a board of three trustees. The charity operates under its governing document, which is based on the model CIO constitution provided by the Charity Commission for England and Wales. Trustees are appointed in accordance with the procedures outlined in the constitution. 

This report pertains to the Foundation’s operations in the period **1[st] June 2024 to 31[st] May 2025** . Key feature during this period has been broadening of the donor base and establishing relationships with charity partners to deliver badly needed assistance to a broader set of beneficiaries. 

## **Objectives and Activities** 

The Foundation is committed to the prevention or relief of poverty, particularly in the Kotli district of Azad Kashmir. Its charitable objects are as follows: 

- To prevent or relieve poverty wherever it is needed, but particularly in Kotli, by providing financial assistance, necessary goods, and services to individuals in need. 

- To collaborate with other charities and organizations to further its mission of combating poverty and addressing its root causes. 

The trustees have referred to the guidance contained in the Charity Commission's general guidance on public benefit when reviewing the charity's aims and objectives and in planning its future activities. In particular, the trustees consider how planned activities will contribute to the aims and objectives that have been set. The trustees are satisfied that this ensures the Foundation’s work is in the public benefit. 

The trustees have complied with their duty under charity law to ensure that all activities carried out provide public benefit. 



## **Achievements and Performance** 

Significant milestones were achieved, during this period of operation. Some of the key activities and outcomes of the Foundation's work are outlined below: 

## **Key Activities and Outcomes** : 

1. **Support for Education** : 

   - Continued to provide financial support (paying tuition fees) for a young girl in the Kotli district of Azad Kashmir in pursuing higher education, enabling her to secure future opportunities. 

   - Funded the repair of windows for a mosque serving a primary school in district Kotli. 

2. **Poverty Relief** : 

   - Provided Financial support to an elderly sick gentlemen in Somerset, England, who was in financial distress due to removal of heating subsidy by the government. 

   - Continued to provide financial support to 2 disabled elderly ladies in the Kotli district. 

   - Paid for building a small house for a widow with depended children in Lakki Marwat district KPK, Pakistan. 

   - Funded the building of a clean water facility in Southern Punjab, Pakistan. 

3. **Charity Partnerships** : 

   - Established working relationships with 4 UK based charities with considerable international delivery capabilities. Provided grants towards the delivery of their projects. 

In total, **£8,204** was disbursed during the year to deliver these initiatives, which directly benefited numerous individuals and families in need. 

## **Financial Review** 

The total income for the year 24/25 was **£8,881** , and total disbursement amounted to **£8,204** . The Foundation has not kept any reserves, as all income has been donated directly to charitable activities.
