Structure, Governance, and Management
The Amir Jan Foundation is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) governed by a board of three trustees. The charity operates under its governing document, which is based on the model CIO constitution provided by the Charity Commission for England and Wales. Trustees are appointed in accordance with the procedures outlined in the constitution.
This report pertains to the Foundation's first year of operation, during which the charity established its organizational structure and began its activities to deliver public benefit. The first year also saw the establishment of administrative procedures and systems, the development of a website, and the creation of marketing materials to support the charity's mission and raise awareness.
Objectives and Activities
The Foundation is committed to the prevention or relief of poverty, particularly in the Kotli district of Azad Kashmir. Its charitable objects are as follows:

To prevent or relieve poverty wherever it is needed, but particularly in Kotli, by providing financial assistance, necessary goods, and services to individuals in need.

To collaborate with other charities and organizations to further its mission of combating poverty and addressing its root causes.
The trustees have referred to the guidance contained in the Charity Commission's general guidance on public benefit when reviewing the charity's aims and objectives and in planning its future activities. In particular, the trustees consider how planned activities will contribute to the aims and objectives that have been set. The trustees are satisfied that this ensures the Foundation’s work is in the public benefit.
The trustees have complied with their duty under charity law to ensure that all activities carried out provide public benefit.
Achievements and Performance
Significant milestones were achieved, during this first year of operation, including establishing key processes and implementing impactful initiatives aligned with its objectives. Some of the key activities and outcomes of the Foundation's work are outlined below:

A grant was provided to support a young girl in the Kotli district of Azad Kashmir in pursuing higher education, enabling her to secure future opportunities.

Economic Empowerment :

Funding was allocated for the purchase of equipment to help a young boy in the Kotli district start a gardening and wheat harvesting business, creating a sustainable livelihood.

Disaster Relief :

Financial support was extended to rebuild a family home in Morocco after it was damaged by an earthquake, offering stability and security to those affected.

Healthcare Assistance :

Funding covered hospital treatment for the sole earner of a family in the Kotli district, enabling a liver transplant operation that preserved their wellbeing and future livelihood.
In addition to these achievements, the Foundation laid the groundwork for future growth by creating administrative systems and processes, launching a website to enhance its online presence, and producing marketing materials to raise awareness of its mission.
In total, £5,708 was disbursed during the year to deliver these initiatives, which directly benefited numerous individuals and families in need.
Financial Review
The total income for the year was £5,795 , and total disbursement amounted to £5,708 . The Foundation has not kept any reserves, as all income has been donated directly to charitable activities.
The trustees have established a reserves policy to be reviewed in future years as the charity continues to grow.
