and the surrounding areas in particular but
not exclusively. The CIO is committed to
relieving the plight of the homeless by:
helping them become independent to enable
them to contribute positively towards the
community; placing the faith/church into the
community to help the homeless find their
vocations/talents through vocational training
for trades such as electrical and plumbing;
supporting the provision of short-term
accommodation and shelter; helping reduce
the ethnic generational dependency on
government benefits; promoting the
integration of homeless and disadvantaged
ethnic minorities into British culture.| |Summary of the main

We provided approved a certified vocational
training course (Electric and Gas and
Plumbing) through Alpha Engineering
College at Canning Town, East London.
NewWay charity provides temporary shelter
for the homeless and refers the homeless
people to the St Antony’s church winter
homeless project. The Knights and Ladies of
Marshall is a Catholic friendly society
supporting St. Antony's winter homeless

disadvantages the homeless. In particular,
we assisted St Antony’s Church’s winter
homeless project aimed at offering
temporary shelter and food at the church.
Volunteers from the CIO helped to prepare
the hall with beds, mattresses, sheets,
duvets and covers, blankets, etc; find
suitable accommodation after the winter
homeless project in St Antony’s; gain skills
through formal vocational training, leading to
employment, and increase confidence
through learning.
The CIO has specifically provided funding for
vocational training to one homeless person
who was part of the St Antony’s homeless
winter project. The homeless person has
completed a plumbing course and moved
into supported youth accommodation. He is
working in construction while he looks for his
