## **Structure, Governance & Management**

## **Description of the Charity's Trusts**

**Type of Governing** Constitution **Document: How the Charity is** Charitable Incorporated Organisation **Constituted: Trustee Selection** The Trustees are selected in the Annual General Meeting **Methods:**

## **Objectives & Activities**

## **Objectives of the Charity**

Prayer Garden Church is a charitable incorporated organisation, which abide by the principles and doctrines of the Apostolic church that are rooted in the teachings of Jesus Christ. Our objective is to promote love, joy and peace in the society through promoting biblical values in the community. These are actioned through structured activities that benefit the general public and through helping the young people and children in the community.

## **Activities of the Charity**

The objectives of the charity are fulfilled through regular Sunday church services and a wide range of communityfocused activities. Weekly services include worship sessions that cater to both English and Malayalam-speaking communities, Bible teachings, and opportunities for individuals to share faith experiences and build meaningful connections.

To further strengthen our outreach to the wider community, we expanded our ongoing initiative of providing free food and clothing by launching a new program called Through this initiative, we actively engage with the local community by distributing hot chocolate and coffee during the winter months, as well as seasonal clothing such as winter and summer wear depending on need. Additional essential items are also shared to support individuals and families facing hardship. Alongside this, care packages are regularly prepared and distributed to those who are less fortunate within the community.

On a weekly basis, the charity organizes community-centered initiatives designed to encourage social interaction, reduce isolation, and meet practical needs. These gatherings allow individuals to form social relationships, connect with new people, and feel supported in a welcoming environment.

The charity also runs a structured Sunday School program for children aged 3 to 17. Through these sessions, children are taught important social and life skills that support their education and personal development.

Creativity is strongly encouraged, with opportunities for children to explore and showcase their talents in music, arts, and performance. As part of this program, educational day trips are organized, including visits to museums such as the Natural Maritime Museum and more during the summer.

Young people within the community are supported through regular social meet-ups and online Zoom calls, providing safe spaces for discussion, encouragement, and relationship-building. Separate sessions are also held for women and men, focusing on prayer, sharing experiences, mutual counselling, and emotional and spiritual wellbeing. These meetings promote confidence, communication, and leadership skills among participants.

Established teams within the church, such as **Pilgrims (the music and worship team)** and the **Media and Production team** , provide members with opportunities to develop practical skills, explore creativity, and grow both individually and collectively while serving the wider community.

Throughout the year, the church organizes larger events including summer and winter camps held at various locations across the UK. These events offer opportunities for rest, reflection, and fellowship, contributing positively to mental health and overall wellbeing. Additional seasonal events such as Sports Days, Arts Days, recreational outings, and social gatherings are also held to promote relaxation and help reduce stress and daily burdens. A **Winter Social** was organized and opened to the wider community, welcoming new attendees to experience performances such as dances, skits, and carol singing. This event helped introduce new individuals to the charity and encouraged greater community engagement.

Pastoral care and counselling services are available as required, with local pastors providing guidance and support to community members. Regular Zoom meetings are also conducted for ministers at different levels, both within and beyond the immediate community, to encourage learning, collaboration, and mutual support.

In addition to the main church services, the charity holds regular weekly gatherings and services in **Southend, Brighton, and Nottingham** , ensuring that the social and spiritual needs of people in these areas are met. The charity also continues to expand its community outreach efforts by partnering with other churches and organizations to deliver joint initiatives and programs that benefit the wider public.

## **Achievements and Performance:**

The charity and its board members hold regular review and evaluation meetings to assess the effectiveness of all activities and initiatives. These meetings provide an opportunity to reflect on performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes where necessary. Continuous feedback and review ensure that the charity remains aligned with its objectives and is able to enhance its impact while effectively serving the community.

## **Future Developments:**

The church intends to continue with the current activities and also plans to introduce new activities like opening more branches and introducing more social activities like street pastoring etc.
