## **EASTBOURNE GRACE BAPTIST CHURCH**

## **Registered charity number 1199215**

## **Trustees Annual Report for the period 1[st] January to 31[st] December 2025**

## **Structure, governance and management**

Eastbourne Grace Baptist Church is an independent Christian church. The church is a CIO and is governed by a constitution. The trustees of the church are the Pastor, Elders and Deacons, appointed by ballot by the church members as stipulated in the constitution. The trustees (Pastor, elders and deacons) manage the ministry and the practical needs of the church in accordance with the constitution.

The trustees during 2025 were:-

Thomas Allen – Pastor Simon Fermor – Deacon and Secretary Hugh Pollington – Deacon and Treasurer

## **Objectives and Achievements**

The object of Eastbourne Grace Baptist Church is to advance the Christian faith for the public benefit in accordance with the summary statement of beliefs and practice as outlined in the constitution.

In pursuance of this, public worship services consisting of sung praise, bible readings, prayer and bible preaching are held in the church building on Sunday mornings and evenings and on Thursday evenings. These services are open to all. The Lord continues to bless the church with increasing congregations.

All services are live-streamed on YouTube and all sermons have been uploaded to “Sermon-Audio” – an international on-line repository of Christian preaching and teaching available to all via the internet.

During the year a Sunday School was started, taking place on Sundays each week during school term times.

A monthly service continues to be held in the local care home which the church has been visiting for some years. Starting in 2025 a monthly service is now held in a further care home following a request from the home for a Christian service.

Open-air outreach is undertaken by means of open-air preaching and tract distribution.

Various UK charities, supporting the relief of poverty and the advancement of the Christian faith in the UK and overseas are supported by monthly gifts. Examples of charities supported in this way are Christian Compassion Ministries (the Philippines), Caring for Life (UK), Mombasa Mission (Kenya), Daylight Prison Ministries (UK).

## **Income and expenditure**

Church income is almost exclusively from voluntary contributions from church members and members of the congregation, through collection boxes at the church and through monthly giving via BACS. We are thankful to the Lord that giving has remained generous.

Expenditure comprises a ministerial stipend and associated costs, maintenance of the church building and facilities, utilities and various services eg broadband, Sermon-Audio.

As noted above eleven UK charities were supported during the year by monthly gifts.

## **Declaration**

The trustees declare that they have approved the trustees’ annual report and accounts.

Signed on behalf of the trustees:

Thomas Allen Hugh Pollington
