PINT (PEOPLE IN NEED TODAY)

TRUSTEES’ REPORT FOR THE PERIOD ENDED 31 MARCH 2025

People In Need Today (PINT) was registered as a Charitable Incorporated organization (CIO) with the Charity Commission on 7[th] June 2022. The Trustees present their first period report, together with the financial statements of People in Need Today for the period ended 31 March 2025.

P.I.N.T (People in Need Today) was established with a simple yet profound mission: to do a little good in the world . As our trustee David Anwar eloquently put it, " I want to do a little good in the world like some people did good to me when I was in trouble." This sentiment encapsulates the spirit and driving force behind our charity. We aim to brighten someone’s day and provide help to those who need it most.

The core purpose of P.I.N.T is to help the poor and needy, offering support and kindness to

those who find themselves in dire situations. Our mission is not only to provide aid but also to create a ripple effect of goodwill and compassion. We seek out individuals in need, particularly those sleeping on the streets and in parks, ensuring they receive the assistance they deserve.

Trustee Collaboration and decision making

Our trustees work collaboratively, listening to diverse ideas and collectively deciding on the best paths forward. This democratic approach allows us to harness the strengths and insights of each trustee, ensuring that our initiatives are well-rounded and effective. We are committed to maintaining a transparent and inclusive decision-making process, which is fundamental to our success and trustworthiness.

Impact Stories

The existence and success of P.I.N.T are deeply rooted in the personal journeys of our trustees. One trustee, in particular, embodies the transformative power of our charity. This individual was once in a vulnerable position, dealing with a severe medical condition and receiving no support or belief from others. Despite these challenges, this person has now become a trustee, dedicated to helping others who face similar struggles. This exceptional story highlights the profound impact P.I.N.T can have, turning recipients of aid into givers, and reinforcing our mission of creating a community of support and compassion.

Public Trust and Awareness

Over time, the general public is increasingly recognising P.I.N.T as a reliable and trustworthy charity. Our reputation is built on the consistent delivery of our promises and the visible impact of our work. We physically go out into the community to find and help those in need, demonstrating our commitment to our cause and the people we serve.

The Trustees confirm that the year-end report and financial statements of the People In Need Today charity comply with:

The above guidances are specifically applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard practiced within the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2015).

Achievements and Performance in 2025

In 2025, London has seen a further rise in street homelessness compared with 2024, with more people sleeping rough as pressures from high rents, limited housing supply, and the cost-of-living crisis continue to intensify. The works of PINT (People In Need Today) has grown by a substantial amount that has increased our resources and also the input taken on by our new volunteers.

PINT has made a significant impact in the lives of many living on the streets and in temporary accommodation. These individuals from various communities across London have relied on the help of the organisation to battle through hard times and hardship in today's current economic conditions.

Our work has increased not just by the number of outreaches we carry out weekly which currently stand at 10, twice daily meaning a breakfast outreach and an evening outreach but the numbers we support daily.

Our outreach work alone provides over 700 meals and essential packs per week.

Each pack consists of a meal, sandwich, chocolate bar, drink, fruit and a bottle of water. The packs are designed exclusively so that they can be carried and consumed easily making them a must have for those living on the streets.

Along with our outreach work we also provide emergency services for those in temporary accommodation or housing that find themselves with limited or no resources to live on. These resources are food packs and parcels designed to help an individual or family to support themselves between 48hours and a week supply.

Our dedication is to provide assistance and also to help those gain help by providing knowledge and information for those to reach out to larger organisations who can support and provide on a longer term.

PINT work has extended to supporting victims of domestic violence and abuse who find themselves in desperate situations that require emergency support.

We have over the past year been able to extend our help not just by providing food or support packs but also providing clothing, bedding, towels, sanitary and hygiene products at a short notice.

Activities and Support Provided (continued)

As a small organisation we pride our work on being able to deliver either by helping an individual or family by providing support or information that can assist them in urgent and desperate situations.

The service we provide extends beyond those who are homeless, or in temporary accommodation but to supporting the elderly, vulnerable and disabled individuals who require an extra hand with resources and wellness in order to survive weekly.

Our services this year has seen a 25% increase in areas such as domestic violence and abuse, vulnerable individuals suffering long term illnesses and elderly people unable to perform important tasks such as shopping.

A breakdown of our weekly services consist of :

PINT has also launched and managed a successful mobile library named Words of Wisdom which provides books and reading materials to individuals living on the streets but now extending to individuals in temporary accommodation.

The library has had a huge impact which has seen our stock of books grown from 50 books in stock to 150 books being made available.

These books have been specifically collated with titles and stories have been put together to help motivate whoever reads them.

The result alone has seen 3 individuals find themselves a new home and a job.

Our Cold campaign has also opened the eyes of many corporate companies who have longed to reach out and volunteer with charities supporting those on the streets and this initiative has helped those gain an insight by working alongside us in outreach programs,

This year we have worked with individuals from 22 various corporate organisations with a plan to increase this by double the amount next year.

Our recycling and upcycling work of food and essentials this year have seen the following increases:

Our contribution and donations have been received from the following organisations who have helped and supported our mission and services this year.

Recognising the growing demand for emergency food assistance, we have further developed our smart food bank initiative. Although we lack a dedicated distribution location, we provide emergency food parcels to individuals and families in urgent need. These parcels contain essential groceries designed to help recipients transition to more stable support networks within their communities.

Future Objectives for 2026

Looking ahead, we aim to:

The trustees remain committed to addressing the challenges of homelessness, poverty, and domestic abuse through innovation, collaboration, and a relentless drive to make a difference. We thank our volunteers, donors, and supporters for helping us achieve our mission in 2025 and look forward to a year of growth and positive change in 2026.

Going concern

The Trustees have a duty to consider whether there are material uncertainties about the Charity’s ability to continue as a going concern for at least 12 months from the date the accounts are authorized for issue.

Financial review

The accounts have been prepared under the accruals basis.

During the period, the Charity's total income amounted to £8.941 (2024: £654), while total expenditure was £2,563 (2024: £1,137). The net surplus for the year is £6.378 (Deficit 2024: £483 Surplus). The Charity's activities are primarily funded by voluntary income from individual donations. As at 31st March 2025, the Charity’s total funds were £11,028 (2023: £4,650), all of which were unrestricted.

The Trustees have determined that maintaining reserves equivalent to 6 months' operating costs is appropriate according to their reserves policy. However, as this is the first period of operation and the Trustees plan to expand activities and invest in a capital asset, it is challenging for them to allocate funds specifically towards the reserves.

The Charity’s financial risks relate to risks of damage or injury to third parties or to their premises during the outreach and staging of any fundraising events.

Structure, governance and management

The Charity is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) and is governed by its Constitution.
