the Charity Commlssion on 7 June 2022, The Trustees present thelr first period report, together
wlth the flnanclal statements of People in Need Today for the perlod ended 31 March 2024.
P.I.N.T (People In Need Today) was establlshed with a simple yet
profound m1s55on: to do a Ilttle good In the world. As our trustee David
Anwar eloquently put It, "I wont to do o little good in the world like
some people dld good to me when I was in trouble,, This sentiment
encapsulates the spirit and driving force behind our charity. We aim to
brlghten someone's day and provlde help to those who need it most.
The core purpose of P.l.N.T Is to help the poor and needy, offerln8 SUPPOrt and klndness to
those who flnd themselves In dlre sltuatlons. Our misslon is not only to provide ald but also to
create a ripple effect of goodwill and compasslon. We seek out Individuals in need, particularly
those sleepin8 on the streets and in parks, ensurin8 they receive the as5iStance they deserve.

Our trustees work collaboratively, listening to dlverse Ideas and collectlvely deciding on the best
paths forward. Thls democratic approach allows us to harness the strengths and Insi8hts of each
trustee, ensurlng that our Inltlatives are well-rounded and effective, We are commltted to
malntainlng a transparent and inclusive decislon-maklng proce55, whlch Is fundamental to our
success and trustworthlness.
Impart Storles
The exlstence and success of P.l.N.T are deeply rooted in the personal Journey5 of our trustees.
One trustee, in partlcular, embodles the transformative power of our charlty. This Indlvidual was
once In a vulnerable position, dealing wlth a severe medical condltion and recelvlnE no support
or belief from others. Despite these challenges, this person has now become a trustee, dedicated
to helpin8 Others who face similar struggles. This exceptional story highlights the profound
impact P,I,N.T can have, turning recipient5 of aid Into givers, and reinforcin8 our mission of
creating a community of support and compassion.

Public Trust and Awareness
Over time, the general public is increaslngly recognlsing P.l.N.T as a reliable and trustworthy
charity. Our reputation is built on the consistent delivery of our promises and the visible impact
of our work. We phy51cally go out into the community to find and help those in need,
demonstrating our commitment to our cause and the people we serve.

PINT - People In Need Today is a non-profit voluntary charity dedlcated to the rellef and
a551Stance of Indivlduals who are homeless, anywhere in the UK, who are in need by reason of
thelr poverty or flnancial hardship by the provislon of, or as515tance In the provlsion of,
accommodation, services and/or goods.
Fundralsln
note
The Charlty does not soliclt funds by means of any mass appeals or generalised campalgns by
phone. email, or direct mail. The Charlty also does not sub-contract any fundraisin8 activitie5 to
a third party and does not otherwise fundraise vla a general call for 5UPPOrt. Funds are instead
raised vla private donatlon5 and events held. The Charity dld not receive any complaints about
fundraislng actlvlty during the year.

Achievements and Performance in 2024
The year 2024 witne55ed a significant Increase in homelessness across the UK, with London
experiencing a particularly severe rise. This escalatlon has dramatically impacted our workload,
necessitatin8 a greater provision of essential items to meet the daily needs of those in crisls.
Malntained outreach services six to seven days a week, 5UPPQrting approxlmately 600
individuals weekly.
Operated the smart food bank moblle servlce on weekend5, a55lsting 8 to 12 families or
Individuals each week.
Conducted community workshops to educate and mobilize local residents in supporting
rough Sleepers and the homeless.
Strengthened relatlon5hSps wlth bu51nesses across London to reduce food waste and
create dlstrlbutlon packa8es.
Prepared to launch a Llverpool outreach pro8ram, expanding our effort5 beyond London.
Bullt stronger collaborations with newly established and exlstlng charitles.
Actlvltles and Support Provlded
Our mlssion to support the homeless and vulnerable is carried out through the dlstributlon of
essential items, including hygiene products, clothlngi socks, and underwear. Additionally, our
meal packs, which include a hot meal, sandwich, chocolate5, crlsps, frults, and drinks, form a
cornerstone of our outreach efforts.
Our visible and impactf ul outreach work In London has not only supported rough sleepers but
has a150 drawn the attentlon and collaboration of other charities. We are proud to have
partnered with organSzatlons such as Charlty Begln5 At Home, Ni5hkamswat, and Critical Support.
These partnerships have enhanced our abillty to provlde consistent support through donatlons
and mutual efforts.
Our PINT outreach program operates seven days a week, dependlng on the avallability of
donations and volunteers. In most circumstances, we maintain a regular commitment of at least
Six days a week. Beyond our core activities, the charity has expanded its support to victims of
domestic violence and abuse. Thls 15 achieved through a dlscreet distribution process in
collaboration with third parties, ensurlng that vlctlms receive weekly packages containing
sanitary products, clothing, food, and snacks.

Activities and Support Provlded Icontlnuedl
Recognising the growing demand for emergencyfood a55iStance, we havefurther developed our
smart food bank initiative. Although we lack a dedicated distribution location, we provide
emergency food parcels to individuals and farnilies In urgent need. These parcels contain
essential groceries designed to help recipients transition to more stable support networks within
their communities.
New Inltlatlves and Communlty Enga8ement
Thls year also marked our increased Involvement wlth young adults who have faced challenges
with the law. Our presence in South London has become a beacon of hope, offering food,
essentla15, and 8uidance. One of our promising project5, Words of Wisdom IWOWI, focu5es on
empowerln8 Individuals through positlve 8uidance and encoura8ement to relntegrate Into
soclety. Though in Its early stages, WOW has already assisted 22 indlviduals in turnln8 thelr lives
around.

Looking ahead, we aim to:

Launch a mobile Ilbrary featurlng 200 self-help books.
Further develop and Implement the WOW prolett to provide indlvldu31s with Ilfe-
changing resources and guidance.

Despite the ever-increasing need for support, the donation received from Janles Homeless in
2023 has provided us with the necessary cash flow to sustain our operations. Coupled with the
financlal discipline of the Trustees and continued donatlons, this has enabled the charity to
maintain and even enhance Its ability to support more people in need. As a result, the Trustees
are confident that the Charitws operatlons remaln vlable.
Flnancial review
The accounts have been prepared under the accrua15 basis.
During the perlod, the Charity's total Income amounted to £65412023: £5,683), whSle total
expendlture was £1,13712023'. £5501. The net deficit for the year is £48312023., £5,133 Surplus),
The Charity's activities are prlmarily funded by voluntary Income from individual donation5. A5 at
31st March 2024, the Charit(s total funds were £4,650 12023., £5,133), all of which were
unrestricted.
The Trustees have determlned that malntalnln8 reserves equlvalent to 6 months, operatlng costs
is appropriate according to their reserves policy. However, as this Is the first period of operation
and the Trustees plan to expand activities and invest in a capital asset, it is challengln8 for them
to allocate funds speclflcally towards the reserve5,
The Charity's financial rlsks relate to rSsk5 of damage or Inlury to third partles or to thelr premises
during the outreach and staging of any fundraising events.
Structurei governance and management
The Charity is a Charitable Incorporated Organlsation ICIOI and is govemed by its Constltution.

The Charity does not employ any staff. The trustees servlng during the period and since the

purposes. The alm and use of each designated fund are set out In the notes to the financlal statements.
Restrlrted funds are fund5 whlch are to be used In accordance wlth speclflc restrictions Imposed by donors
or whlch have been ralsed by the People In Need Today IPINTI for spe¢lflc purpose5. The costs of ra15ing

1.4 Income
All Income Is recognised once People In Need Today IPINTI has entitlement to the income. it 15 probable
that the income wlll be received, and the amount of Income recelvable can be measured rellably.
Donated servl¢es or fac111tles are recognlsed when People In Need Today IPINTlhas control over the Item,
any conditlons assoclated wlth the donated item have been met, the receipt of economlc beneflt from
the use of People In Need Today IPINTI of the Item is probable and that economlc beneflt can be measured
reliably.
On receipt, donated profe55lonal servlces and donated facSlltles are recognlsed on the basls of the value
of the glft to People In Need Today IPINTI whlch is the amount People In Need Today IPINTlwould have
been wllllng to pay to obtain serv5ces or facllitles of equlvalent etonoml¢ benefit on the open market; a
correspondinB amount Is then reco8nlsed in expendlture in the period of receipt.
1.5 Expenditure
Expendlture Is recognlsed once there Is a legal or constructlve obli8Otion to make payment to a thlrd partyi
It Is probable that settlement will be required and the amount of the obllgatSon can be measured rellably.
All expendlture Is accounted for on an accruals basls.
1.6 Taxation
People In Need Today IPINTlis consldered to pass the tests set out In Para8raph I Schedule 6 of the
Flnance Art 2010 and therefore It meet5 the deflnltlon of a charStable company for UK corporatlon tax
purposes. Accordingly, People In Need Today {PINTI is potentlally exempt from taxatlon In respect of
income or capital gains received wlthln categorles covered by Chapter 3 Part 11 of the Corporation Tax
Act 2010 or 5ectlon 256 of the Taxation of Chargeable Gains Act 1992, to the extent that such income or
8ains are applled exclusively to charitable purposes.
1,7 Debtors
Trade and other debtor5 are reco8ni5ed at the settlement amount after any trade dlscount offered.
Prepayments are valued at the amount repald net of any trade dlscounts due.

1.8 Cash at Bank and in hand
Cash at bank and In hand includes cash and short term highly liquid investments with a short maturity of
three months or less from the date of acqulsltion or opening of the deposlt or 51milar account.
1.9 Credltor5 and provisions
Creditor5 and provisions are recognlsed where People In Need Today IPINTI has a present obligation
resultlng from a past event that will probably result in the transfer of funds to a thlrd party and the amount
due to settle the obligation Can be measured or estlmated rellably. Creditors and provlslons are normally
recognised at their settlement amount after allowing for any trade discounts due,
1.10 Non-current Assets
The Charlty has a capitalisatlon threshold of £l,IKJO, below whlch capital Spend Is expensed. An additlonal
vehlcle wa5 purchased In August 2021 by the charity to support the delivery of rescue servlces. Further
detall can be found withln the Tangible Fixed Asset note.
1.11 Governance Costs
Governance costs Include accountlng and bank charges. The trustees also contribute to meetlng expenses.
1.12 Related Party Transectlon5
During 2023, the Charity recelved £4,652 from Janle's Homele55 (Charlty number.. 11830221 There were
no other related party transectlons to report. The trustees contlnue to donate thelr time to the Charlty as
an unre5trlcted donatS0n.
1.14 Goln8 concern
The Trustees have reviewed budgets and future plans for the Charlty and conslder that it is a goSng
concern.
