The Polish Organisation for Leaming Assislance and Culture Is govemed by a board of
trustees. all of whom serve on a voluntary basis. The board provide oversight and
guidance to the charitys operations. Trustees are appoinled by Board of Trustees
during AGM.
Objecllves and activities
To develop the capacity and skills of socially and econoTnically disadvantaged
communities, induding members of the Polish Community, within Bassetlaw and the
surrounding areas, in such a way that they are better able to identify, and help meet,
their needs and to participate more fully in society.

The Trustees confirn that they have complied viith the duty in section 17 of the
Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to the Chanty Commission's general guidance

charity committed to promoting Polish culture and history. advancing education,
providing services and promoting social inclusion. We are dedicated to positively
irnpacting the local community living in Bassetlaw. in particular, but not exclusive lo
members of the Polish communty.

Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit
On Seplember 3rd. 2023. the trustees officially integrated the Polish Saturday School
inlo Ihe structure of the Polish Organi5ation for Leaming Assistance and Culture. The
school holds classes every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in classrooms rented
from Holy Family RC Primary School.
The Polish Saturday School offers lessons in the Polish language. as well as elernents
of history, geography. mathematics, culture. and traditions. It serves children of Polish
heritage, as well as those who are interested in leaming the language and exploring
Polish culture. In addition to dassroom leaming, the school organises educational trips
and activities that support pupils. overall development alongside their mainstream
education.
The sthool also hosts a variety of events and festivals for students. their families, and
the wder community. All events a￿ free and open to the public.
Summary of the main achievements during the period
The Polish School participated in the Multicultural Picnic organised by the Bassetlaw
Multicullural Organisalion. The event aimed to celebrate cuftural diversity through
music, dance, and international cuisine. As part of the programme, children from the
school's dance group, POLAC. performed the traditional Polish folk dance Krakowiak,
showcasing an important aspect of Polish cultural heritage. The school also contributed
to the event by providing animal handling sessions and a variety of Graft activitie5,
which were open to all attendees and Well-re￿IVed by participants of all ages.
In addition. the organisation a￿anged a cultural thp to Edinburgh. The primary
objective of the visit was to explore historical connections between Scotland and
Poland, with particular emphasis on Edinburgh's Significan￿ in this shared history.
Financial revlew
Two primary sources of income continued to be a subscript￿n to Saturday School and
external grants.
The charfty's policy on reserves
POLAC'S reserves are maintained at reasonable levels in order to provide sufficient
buffer should the charity see a sudden decrease in donations or decrease the number
of fee paying students at Polish Saturday School.

for the year ended 30 June 2024
I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of Polish Organisation for
Leaming Assistance and Culture {the charity) for the year ended 30 June 2024.
Responsibllities and basis of report
As the trustèes of the charity you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in
accordance with the requirements of the Charities Aci 2011 ('the Act,).
I report in respect of my examination of the charity's accounts carried out under section
145 of the 2011 Aci and in carying out my examination I have followed all the
applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)Ibl of the
Act.
Independent examinerfs statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no matters have come to my attention
in conn8ction with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material
respect".
1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section
130 of the Act" or
2. the accounts do not accord wth those records.
I have no concems and have come across no other matters in connection with the
examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable
proper understanding of the accounts to be read)ed.

During Ihis period, a totsl of £1.680 was paid to Anna Gqsior for her role as Head
teacher of the Polish Saturday School. Margozata Soltys also received £200 for her
work organising and coordinating the Christmas event for children and their
