Trustees’ Annual Report for: Alvingham Village Community Hall CIO Yarburgh Road Alvingham Louth Lincolnshire LN11 0QG Charity Registration Number: 1199191 Period of reporting: 1st October 2024- 30th September 2025 Trustees during the period of reporting: Mr Nigel Midgley (Chair) - current Mr Martin Stebbings - current Mrs Ann Stebbings (Secretary) - current Mr Cummings stood down in Feb 25 Structure of the Charity from 16th October 2024- 30th September 2025 : The Charity is managed by the 3 Trustees named above along with a committee of 9 other volunteers. Every member of the committee has a responsibility for an area eg. social media, events, premises. Meetings are held monthly and there are standing items on the agenda to address: Correspondence Provision of activities for the community Feedback on these activities Hiring protocols Physical maintenance and management of the premises. Health and Safety Treasurer’s Report All Trustees and Committee members are volunteers and members of the local community and so have enthusiasm and energy to make the Hall and the events we put on, the best they can be. The AGM took place on 9th Feb 2025 and in addition to the Committee, was attended by 15 non-committee members of the community. Summary of achievements from October 2024 - 30th September 2025. The remit of the Alvingham Village Community Hall Charity is to provide and maintain a facility where people living in the local community (Alvingham and surrounding area) can meet in a safe and pleasant environment ‘with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants’ (Alvingham Village Community Hall Charity Doc 2021). During the period of reporting, the Committee planned, delivered and supported opportunities for the local community to: learn and practice new skills eg Sew Knit and Natter, Keep Fit, Yoga, quizzes take part in and enjoy recreational activities such as Bingo, Curling, Karaoke, Film Night, New Year’s Eve, Open Mic, Darts n’ Pool Knockout enjoy a cooked meal eg Friday Food Night, Chine Supper, Spring Dinner, Christmas Dinner, Burn’s Night, ‘pop-up’ caterers. celebrate/ mark landmark life-events be a venue for local meetings and exhibitions take part socially in celebrating national occasions The Hall was also hired out to local organisations such as Bee- keepers, Young Farmers Club, rehearsal space and East Lindsey District Council as a polling-day venue. The Committee planned, organised and put on a wide range of inclusive events to appeal to the varied interests of the local community. The Committee are fully aware of the need to up-date the fabric of the Hall – no significant investment in its infrastructure had occurred since the late 1990’s. Replacing the antiquated and expensive electric wall heaters was identified as a priority and an application for grant funding through UKSPF GRASSroots was made in September 2024. This was successful and the Charity was awarded half of the total cost of replacing the old heating system with an up to-date ceiling-mounted heating/cooling and air-filtration system which was installed in January 2025. This has proved to be very effective reminder of the Committee’s vision and drive to improve the Hall’s infrastructure and appearance and keep it ‘fit for purpose’. The success of most of our events is plain to see when our ticketed events sell out so fast and from the positive comments we get. Let us all do what we can to improve and make the hall and what we offer even better ‘.
