What we have achieved in the year 2023-24
We continue to manage our web site and promote it through the surgeries, the specialist clinics and wards, and through existing patient-led groups for COPD patients.
Our fundraising has enabled us to provide a defibrillator on the site of Liskerrett Community Centre in Liskeard, in memory of one of our founding trustees, Michael Elliott who sadly passed away in May 2023.
It has also enabled us to purchase 4 televisions for Honeyford Ward at Derriford Hospital, a specialist COPD ward that serves the residents of SE Cornwall.
Grants: In February 2024 we were awarded a grant of £5,000 from Cornwall Community Foundation under their Health Improvement Program. The grant was awarded to:
-
Help support the set-up of five new patient run groups throughout the County.
-
Undertake a programme of presentations in secondary schools throughout the County to highlight the dangers of smoking including using vapes to young people.
Our aims for 2024-5
To continue to fundraise to support our aims
To set up five new patient led groups in Cornwall
To work with schools to highlight the dangers of smoking and using vapes to young people
