Our vision and mission
Vision: Started by patients, run by patients, for patients
Mission: To relieve the needs of people diagnosed with long term health conditions by providing a mutual support and information exchange to raise awareness of their problems with health professionals within the area of benefit (Cornwall)

What we have achieved in the year 2022-23
The charity was registered with the charity commission on 6[th] June 2022.
- Our first priority was the design and launch of our web site, www.cornwall breathers.com, fundraise to which was achieved in March 2023, thanks to donations from local businesses including:
Liskeard Town Council BS Embroidery Ugalde Blooms
Thompson Opticians Jays Removal Trowbridge Estate Agents Neil Tucker Electrician Tamar Trotters
The charity also undertook street collections.
The charity welcomed two new trustees in September 2022, Jade Norsworthy and Harriet Vickers, both nurses working on the COPD ward at Derriford Hospital. Jade took part in the Plymouth Half Marathon raising funds for the charity.

Our aims for 2023-4
To continue to manage the web site and promote it through the surgeries, the specialist clinics and wards, and through existing patient-led groups for COPD patients.
To fundraise to provide a defibrillator on the site of Liskerrett Community Centre in memory of one of our founding trustees, Michael Elliott who sadly passed away in May 2023.
To apply for grant funding to:

Help support the set up of new patient run groups throughout the County.

Undertake a programme of presentations in secondary schools throughout the County to highlight the dangers of smoking including using vapes to young people.
