||
|---|---|---|
| Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole. |
Para 1.20 | LLCC have worked hard in this nine-month period to promote social inclusion for the public benefit of members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and non-binary communities who are socially excluded by reason of the sexual orientation or gender identity, We have seen an increase in the numbers of people attending our various sessions in this nine-month period. The art-based sessions are particular popular with people learning new skills and meeting new friends. The Drama club helps build people’s confidence and come out of their shell. The following comments are feedback from attendees from various sessions LLCC run. “These sessions are the first time I’ve been swimming since I began my transition 7 years ago. I’d never have felt able to go swimming as a trans person if these sessions weren’t on. I thought that swimming was something I had to give up when I began transitioning, even though I’ve loved to swim my whole life. I’m so |
glad I have a space to swim again.” “I love the yoga sessions with Iain. Such an accessible and welcoming space. I'm excited to come to the art class next month too” “The poetry club run by Ruth has changed my life, I felt like I had nothing to offer because I am so limited in my capacity to do many things, but through Ruths encouragement and support I feel like my words have importance and that I should share my writing.” “It was really nice to have a way to connect with other LGBTQ+ people in such a safe and friendly environment :)” “With covid still being a health concern and more and more stuff moving to in-person events, it's really nice to be able to join an online session to meet other LGBTQ+ people with a common interest. I liked the relaxed vibes and chance to chat”
