Objectives and Activities

To promote social inclusion for the public benefit by preventing people (particularly, but not exclusively men aged over 18) in Emsworth and the surrounding area from becoming socially excluded, relieving the needs of those people who are socially excluded and assisting them to integrate into society through the provision of facilities in which they can meet jointly or individually to undertake creative, physical or recreational activities, learn or pass on skills and knowledge and support each other socially. For the purpose of this clause ‘socially excluded’ means being excluded from society, or parts of society, as a result of one or more of the following factors: unemployment, financial hardship, social isolation, bereavement, youth or old age or ill health (physical or mental). |

Repairing wooden items of furniture for individuals: this have avoided costly replacement and prevented discarding of items to landfill Making customised items for individuals and local charitable organisations: …. Accepting donations of wood and tools from members of the public: this means that tools (often left by deceased family members) continue to have a useful life and materials surplus to people’s requirements, which would otherwise be discarded, are repurposed. Social activities bring members, their families and the wider community together in a relaxed and pleasurable environment. |
