Wè also have a special needs volunteer who greatly enhances one of our shops with thelr hatter and laughterand hard work. We continue to have the support of our knit and natter group plus a furthor 6 volunteers who pick up donations for our shops from family and friends. Two of our supporters put togethèr a lovely Christmas Hamper raffle whlch ralsod £200. It is true to say that without the invaluable work of our voluntsers our charity would not exist and for that the Trustees are rofoundl rateful. Other Achievements and Perfonnance During 2024 we felt the continued downturn in the economy with more people coming to us asking for financial assistsnce. We have continued to offer advice on pet Ca￿ but we have s￿n a rise in the numbers of people coming to us with age related issues, unemployment and mental health issues. Consequently, where appropriate we have continued to work with social services and other primary health care professionals to provide the best solution not only for them butalso their pets. Where applicable we have also continued to signpost ownors to othor Charities which could offer help and support e.g. food banks, breed specific dog rèscues. We continue to have good relatlonshlps with all local veterinary practices. This now includes the local pet hospital which deals with more compllcated Intruslve veterinary care. During 2024 we continued to trade via our two shops In Wooler and Amble. However, due to the economic climate we saw a downturn in our sales in Wooler. but each shop continued to act as a hub for the local communities.
