|Summary of the main<br>achievements of the charity,<br>identifying the difference the<br>charity’s work has made to<br>the circumstances of its<br>beneficiaries and any wider<br>benefits to society as a<br>whole.|Para 1.20|**Coming out of the aftermath of Covid**<br>**and starting a new charity has been no**<br>**mean feat.**<br>**Together with starting the charity and its**<br>**associated legal requirements we were**<br>**simultaneously thrust into a world with**<br>**more dogs and their owners needing**<br>**our help. Consequently, we not only**<br>**became a rescue but an advice service**<br>**in the belief that it was better to keep**<br>**dogs with their owners if possible.**<br>**This meant establishing  new**<br>**relationships with local vets and other**<br>**local bodies which asked for our help.**<br>**In order to fund our work, we opened**<br>**another in the fishing/holiday village of**<br>**Amble. This proved to be very popular**<br>**with  locals and tourists alike and as a**<br>**result we saw a steady income develop.**<br>**Added to this we also carried out**<br>**fundraising events including pop up**<br>**cafes, attendance at local shows and**<br>**street collections.**<br>**Five dogs were rescued and rehomed**<br>**with a further 5 being place into**<br>**permanent foster homes. These dogs**<br>**are fully supported until end of life.**<br>**We gave out grants totally just under**<br>**£2k in order to help owners on low**<br>**incomes pay vets fees, as well as**<br>**spending just under £4.5k on further**<br>**vets’ fees. We also provided pet food to**<br>**Amble and Wooler foodbanks on a**<br>**regular basis.**|
