Our Purpose to advance the Christian Faith will be achieved through:

Our purpose to promote the wellbeing of the local community and individuals within it:

Structure and management

The CIO is run by a group of 6 trustees, who have oversight of the overall running of the CIO and who meet regularly to monitor activities of the Church and the wider activities of the CIO.

The Church is part of a wider network of independent churches called Harvest Alliance, and the church leadership meet regularly with the leaders of Harvest Alliance regionally, nationally and internationally. It continues to collaborate with other churches in Lancaster and Morecambe.

Public Benefit

Any person regardless of race, age, gender, religious belief, cultural background, sexual orientation or disability can benefit from our charitable purposes.

Funding

The CIO relies entirely on donations by members of the church and the associated Gift Aid payment to support its activities. The CIO does not engage in fundraising activities.

Review of Activities

The principal activity of the CIO is the running of Fusion Church, which meets each Sunday morning and also mid-week for fellowship, worship, prayer and Bible teaching. We have regularly prayed for the needs of individuals and have offered informal and structured pastoral care.

The CIO has remained committed to providing support practically, emotionally, spiritually and financially to those within the Church community and beyond. We have done this through hospitality, giving of time and with regular monthly giving and/or one-off gifts.

We have continued to support the charities Compassion and Adopt-a-child in their work with under-privileged young people around the world. We have given a monthly gift to CAP (Christians Against Poverty) to support their work in the local area. We have also continued to give monthly support to a local missionary in Uganda and given an extra one-off gift this year to the work. During the course of the year, the CIO made one-off financial gifts to those in the church community who have been struggling with health struggles and bereavement.

We have met with and supported other local churches in Harvest Alliance Network with the help of resources and joint services to equip one another and advance the Christian Faith.

Trustee training in respect of their safeguarding responsibilities has also taken place.

Future

The CIO will continue to support the Church in achieving its vision, with a focus on drawing in and serving the local community. The CIO anticipates continuing to make financial gifts to local and wider charity and community organisations. We are also hoping to introduce a children’s work to the church programme.
