4. Funding Bids and Fundraising
Letchworth Heritage Fund – used money for art therapy as part of
social deprivation project. Looking to start next session in January, 4
schools are on board. £10,000 secured.
SP advised she has submitted £10,000 bid to King’s funding and
£5,000 bid to Household Fund. If successful, these bids should see
us through until April 2025
Received money in from Tesco Stronger Starts.
Have shared White Ribbon Campaign and FOSADA resources with
North Herts District Council for them to use when they do their
campaign. Request for FOSADA toy fund some ribbons for them to
use like we do during 16 Days of Action
Trustees agree
RC – We are running low on things to give out/use for promotion by
staff during 16 Days of Action. TK has found a box of small white
metal ones, will put them in SADA office
5. Social Media Update
RC – posts regularly, trying to generate interactions. Will post dates
of drop-ins. For 16 Days of Action RC is prepping material to post
every day, quotes, things we’ve done etc.
MH – Will look to transfer Facebook page fully to RC
SPren – previously talked about TikTok, did this happen? RC
advises not since Christmas, doesn’t have capacity nor TikTok video
knowledge. SP advises we could post things around ‘hedgehog
family’. Survivors at drop-in tell RC that they’ve learned lots from
other survivors on TikTok, listening to other peoples’ stories.

Item Actions MH – Could we canvas for a social media volunteer? SP suggests RC to canvas students speaking to the colleges, looking for media studies students. RC is in colleges for 16 Days of Action, can follow up 6. 2025 FOSADA Ball Contract has been signed, deposit paid. RC now liaising with new SPren to events manager at venue. DJ also arranged – SPren’s friend Phil! seek consent He’ll check if he can share mobile number with RC to enable easier from DJ communications

RC – decorations last time were free via Carla, likely not available now. May have to consider paying someone unless other people have suggestions. Will canvas companies again but only Carla responded last year.

After discussion, the board and trustees agree that an event photographer is not required

SP – Kirsten in Housing Options at SBC does flower arranging outside of work, she may be able to do something with seasonal (winter) items. She made the decorations for a colleague’s wedding using mostly free seasonal items.

Discussions held regarding potential theme. Board have no specific requests – red and green (as date will be near to Christmas) is agreed as potential idea

SM has a Cricut machine and pyrography pen for wood burning, happy to help make decorations

Auction and prizes – RC has secured an item from Kim Wilde’s manager. Two ladies from a local art society want to make a donation.

MH – Can we speak to the High Sheriff? She was going to attend our (cancelled) garden party, we could reach out and get her booked in.

they can donate anything
SP suggests the idea of putting the auction online before the ball;
post on social media, people can then bid before the day. Will need
managing and someone to combine the online and in-person
elements but would generate more interest. Board are very open to
this, but not sure about how it works…
SM will ask Stevenage MP and can encourage him to buy a table.

7. Donations
Sainsburys continue to support us, even though this was only meant
to be for 12 months. They might decide to continue helping but this
is not guaranteed.
Warburtons continuing to donate bread for refuge, safe spaces and
customer-facing SBC departments such as Temporary
Accommodation.
Hygiene Bank have made two donations this year.
Lush in St Albans have donated gifts for refuge clients
Rapid Response Team continue to donate large number of family
food parcels
Letchworth Food Bank have been in touch, meeting with SP this
week. Issues around data sharing relating to Social Deprivation
Project. SP will feed back.
RC has set up a clothes bank at the Women’s Centre which is being
regularly used, no names or details are recorded. All services using
the centre are welcome to access this resource.
Gift Aid – BB still looking at this as it takes some time, but we should
have all the required info and be able to proceed with an application.

Item Actions 16 Days of Action 8. Echoes Exhibition: Tuesday 26[th] November 2024 from 12pm, Ingleheim Lounge, Daneshill House Board would like to see if we could give the exhibition to NHDC to display. SPren recommends speaking to Claire Morgan, Community Engagement Manager. RC will also display the exhibition at the Women’s Centre. Look to see if we can send Safe Space families to an event (such as the pantomime) again. SP is currently costing out possibility of Christmas Food boxes containing chicken and fresh veg. Jeff Owens has been in touch as he would like to host a charity quiz SPren to night for FOSADA. Need to source location.
