The Trustees have pleasure in presenting their Annual Report and Financial Statements for the year ended 31 May 2023

Structure, Governance and Management

Bead Sew Crafty has a Constitution Document which sets out our charitable purposes. We are set up as as a CIO - Charitable Incorporated Organisation. Trustees look at the experience and skills needed for the role to select additional Trustees. Everybody is DBS checked (staff and Trustees) before appointment.

Objectives and Activities

(a)To provide relief to those in need because of disabilities, ill health, age and associated additional needs or disadvantage in such ways as the trustees see fit including by providing therapeutic handicraft workshops and craft activities (b) The advancement of arts and crafts through running creative workshops and teaching of particular skills and crafts.

Achievements and Performance

Between 2022-2023 we recruited 4 new attendees

We raised money for the charity from selling our creations at craft stalls, through the workshop and on Etsy.

Statement on Public Benefit

In shaping our objectives for the year and planning our activities, the trustees confirm that they have referred to the guidance contained in the Charity Commission's general guidance on public benefit and have complied with section 4 of the Charities Act 2011

Financial Review

During the year the Trust received income totalling £48,282 (2022: £nil) of which none was restricted (2022: £nil). Expenditure totalled £42,189 (2022: £nil). Net receipts for the year was £6,093 (2022: £nil). Total charity funds in cash at the year end were £6,093(2022: £nil) which were all unrestricted (2022: £all).

Reserves policy

We have reserves of 3 months expenditure to cover the normal functioning of the company. In event of closure, these rerserves can be accessed. Reserves will be reviewed once a year.

Plans for future periods and impact of COVID19 on charity's activities and financial stability

In the event of another pandemic our charity will strive to deliver it's material to vulnerable adults throgh weekly craft packs, in addition to individual wellbeing and furthering our online presence remotely through once weekly online group sessions. We will need to furlough our staff team while the managers will carry out the afforementioned activities plus apply for any available funding.

The trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees' Annual Report and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law

The Trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records that are sufficient to show and explain the Charity's transactions and disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the Charity and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the applicable charity law, Charity Commission guidance and the provisions of the Trust Deed. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the Trust and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities
