Income this year was £17,294
We received £1,500 in grants from the Borough Council towards our new fuse boards.
Income from Occasional hirers (£6,348) makes up 36% of income with our regular hirers (£9,277) making up the other 53%.
Regular hirers, includes, Bridge, WI, Dance, Choir, Gardening Club, Karate, Martial Arts, Yoga, Pilates, Parish Council, Puppy School, Art Appreciation, Burton Stroke Club and Diabetes Wellbeing Group.
Occasional hirers, includes, children’s and family parties, baby showers, Eid Celebrations, Driving club AGM, Flood Forum and Church fund raising events.
Expenditure was £26,368
Kitchen with new Burco Boiler and heaters was completed. All internal doors painted; all external gutters and down pipes painted, area of drains relined, blinds fitted to kitchen and small committee room. New track for stage curtains installed. Electrical updates included all new fuse boards, complete revamp of all emergency lighting, second fire alarm installed. Anslow Village Hall 1198972 (Charitable Incorporated Organisation) is now in place with the hall and land registered with the Land Registry. The original charity 522599 is now closed and the two charities merged by the Charity Commission.
Hall now has a more modern feel about it; however, repairs to the suspended ceiling were required in January, which has shown it needs replacing. This is a large project of over £17,000. So far grants of £4,000 from Burton Consolidated Charity have been obtained, with further grant applications to Biffa, Awards for All in place and possibly the Borough Council in May. Latest problem would appear to be damp in kitchen, caused by failure of the mortar.
We had been shielded from the huge rise in energy costs by our fixed agreement with EDF, this ran out in September and from £161 month, we are now paying £369 month on a 12 month agreement.
The agreed increase in hirer’s fees again, should help with running costs but the hall does seem to require constant repairs and updates.
