Structure & Management
Greener Padbury Group is managed by trustees. Our constitution states that:

There should be not less than 3 nor more than 9 appointed trustees.

There must be at least three charity trustees. If the number falls below this minimum, the remaining trustee or trustees may act only to call a meeting of the charity trustees, or appoint a new charity trustee.

The maximum number of charity trustees that can be appointed is as provided in sub-clause (a) of this clause. No trustee appointment may be made in excess of these provisions.
Appointed charity trustees:

Apart from the first charity trustees, every appointed trustee must be appointed for a term of two years by a resolution passed at a properly convened meeting of the charity trustees.

In selecting individuals for appointment as appointed charity trustees, the charity trustees must have regard to the skills, knowledge and experience needed for the effective administration of the CIO.
The trustees have all had access to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit.

Activities & Objectives

To promote for the benefit of the public the conservation protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment by promoting biological diversity.

To advance the education of the public in the conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment.
The projects which contributed to these objectives are detailed in the next section.
Achievements & performance

Purchase and installation of bird and bat boxes.

Provision of outdoor learning events for children throughout the year.

Provision of forest school toddler sessions in the village.

‘Day of the Bee’ - village engagement day in connection with the Padbury Produce Show.

Distribution of over 500 wildflower seed packets to the village for planting in our ‘Bee Squared’ initiative.

Maintenance of the woodland in Padbury Village.

Planting and maintenance of local verges.

Establishment of a community allotment.
Financial Review
The opening bank balance was £4811.15.
During the year we received income from restricted grants totalling £2600, unrestricted grants of £1200 and general donation income of £1370.64.
The total expenditure for the year was £5832.39, which included purchases of bat and bird boxes and our contribution towards the grants. Grant money spent on budgeted projects amounted to £4100.68 and from our general funds, admin amounted to £316.92. The spending on the Winslow Community grant was completed and signed off.

£400 of the Heart of Bucks money had been allocated to a scything course, but there were insufficient people to get the value for money and it was agreed that it could be postponed until 2024. Including this element, there was some £854 remaining to be spent from the Heart of Bucks grant at the end of the accounting period.
The unrestricted grant monies are used to cover the amounts the group has to raise under the terms of the Winslow and Heart of Bucks grants.
The closing bank balance was £4710.37.
