**Objects:** THE OBJECTIVE OF THE CIO IS TO PROMOTE THE CONSERVATION OF THE PHYSICAL AND NATURAL ENVIRONMENT BY PROMOTING BIOLOGICAL DIVERSITY AND CARBON SEQUESTRATION ON THE CULM MEASURES. THIS WILL BE UNDERTAKEN IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY ACQUIRING LAND ON THE CULM MEASURES IN DEVON, MANAGING THIS LAND IN SUCH A WAY AS TO CREATE, RESTORE AND PROTECT HABITATS AND INCREASE CARBON SEQUESTRATION, AND BY RAISING AWARENESS AND UNDERSTANDING ABOUT HABITATS ON THE CULM MEASURES.

**Activities:** The objective of the CIO is to promote the conservation of the physical andnatural environment by promoting biological diversity and carbonsequestration on the culm measures. This will be undertaken in particular butnot exclusively by acquiring land on the culm measures in Devon, managingthis land in such a way as to create, restore and protect habitats and increasecarbon sequestration,
