Objectives and activities

The charity's mission is to elevate the role of creativity as the essential skill of the future, vital to unlocking the solutions of tomorrow. We want to make access to creative careers, particularly in the built environment, accessible to all. We are working with young people from diverse and non-traditional backgrounds, to build on their progress into careers in art, architecture, design, and technology.

The trustees have paid due regard to guidance issued by the Charity Commission in deciding what activities the charity should undertake.

Achievements and performance

Over the past three years, the charity has worked with over 500 young people at twelve secondary schools, supported by 120 volunteers and 40 partners and collaborators. The charity's aim is to support and inspire students to discover the value of creativity and related career pathways.

The charity creates educational programmes as part of the school curriculum within schools and at the Grimshaw studio – which range from Big Build Days and workshops, to interactive careers events. All of the workshops and educational programmes are also available as online teaching resources.

The charity partnered with the Mayor of London’s team to commission two new films about multidisciplinary careers within architecture, which will be launched to over 350 secondary schools during Careers Week – as part of their ‘Unpacking the Credits’ campaign.

The charity's partnerships with the London Festival of Architecture, the Bartlett, Sarah Wigglesworth Architects, RIBA and Royal Academy have all helped to broaden its reach and grow the community. In 2022, the charity received a Commendation in the ‘Emerging UK not-for-profit organisation’ – from the TET Inspire Future Generations Awards.
