## The Saffron Walden Community Shed

## Annual Report 2O24

This year saw the continued development of the granary barn which included repairing the concrete floor and replacing the granary “windows” i.e. holes in the wall, with circular glazed panes. There were some changes in the Trustees with Mike Watts, who started the SW Shed and built the firm foundations on which we are growing, standing down as Chair, replaced by Brian Burlinson and Graham Martin taking over as Treasurer.

Also, as seen in the photo, we were visited by the then MP, Kemi Badenock to whom we presented a unique door stop made by our Shed lead, Peter Morrisey.

The Shed was busy with numerous projects including building commissioned owl boxes for a local church, bespoke house signs for local residents, and various items for sale by other local groups.

Not all was hard work though!

We had planned that as part of Shed we would have outings to other places of interest. Our trip to the Welcome Sanger Institute, pictured, was a great success as was the closing of the year with a Christmas

dinner at a local pub, also pictured. All in all, a great year in which the Shed grew from strength to strength
