The work that this organisation does is so important. It makes such a difference to the lives of the teenage girls that we work with, and it is a privilege to play a small part in it. This has been a year of change and growth for the organisation. We have opened up new areas of work as well as strengthened our operational team and Board of Trustees. We have expanded our geographical reach in the Cheshire area as our CEO now lives there. We have been building a list of contacts with schools and other charities and are really excited to bring the Know Your Worth course to girls in the area. We are particularly excited to pursue some partnerships with new contacts there too. This year we have introduced and piloted our Esteem Builders programme. This is a new way of reaching more teenage girls in other areas of the UK. Esteem Builders are trained to deliver the 8 week Know Your Worth Programme with their already established groups or schools, receiving some mentoring from our CEO to ensure the learning has been embedded. The interest in the pilot exceeded our expectations and we have trained 28 Esteem Builders to date. ## A Message from our CEO & Founder Many of our girls are struggling, and we stand committed to helping them. We know that growing self-esteem creates resilience and a buffer when it comes to mental health and well-being. For a little while now, we’ve sensed it’s time to begin to train other professionals to run the Know Your Worth programme. September 2024 saw us train a small cohort of youth leads to deliver the course with their young people in places like Cornwall, Cheltenham, N.Ireland and Oxfordshire. It was such a great way to see how the course translates when in the hands of others on the ground, who can take the content and run with it, and it has proved to us that this is such an effective way of helping more girls grow self-esteem whilst also equipping those passionate about supporting teenage girls. This year has felt like a strong continuation of what we have already been doing such as running the course as the staff team ourselves, sharing resources and running webinars to help those living and working with teenage girls, whilst also branching out and exploring what growth through training can look like. It’s been wonderful to see more girls being reached this year through widening the reach of those delivering the self-esteem courses. ## Deborah Peake **----- Start of picture text -----**

## Aims and Objectives ## **The aim of Know Your Worth is to grow self-esteem in teenage girls** The main way that we seek to do this is through an 8-week course that we run in schools, churches and community groups and to train others to run the course with their teens. ## The course covers **----- Start of picture text -----**

It is designed to help teenage girls to place greater value on themselves, and expect others to do the same. At each point, we link back again to self-esteem and the significance that our self-esteem has on our lives. One of our key aims is to widen our reach through our training development, so that more girls are reached with the course throughout the UK. This highlights the effectiveness of the programme as a targeted early intervention, supporting emotional wellbeing and resilience. This course is helping me with controlling the voices in my head and realising that I’m not fine and need to talk about my feelings more. I would recommend this course because it can make you feel seen and realise what you can do to help yourself. I love that the course has given me a place to be open and honest whilst building up my self-esteem with similar-minded people who I have grown to love so much. It’s going to be so sad to leave this. I wish it were going on forever. What I liked about Know Your Worth is that they made me feel more confident and in a safe space where I could speak, knowing I won’t be judged. KYW has helped me to realise all my emotions are healthy and normal. I understand that my emotions have a purpose and to work out why I feel the way I do. My daughter loves the course. She doesn’t feel forced to share anything she doesn’t feel comfortable with. She was beaming after week one. We would like to thank the incredible people we train to deliver our courses in schools and support girls to recognise their worth, find their voice and grow in confidence. Your passion and commitment makes our work possible. ## Structure, Governance and Management Under the provisions set out in the Memorandum and Articles of Association, members of the Board of Trustees are elected to serve a term of three years. Upon completion of this term, trustees are eligible for re-election at the subsequent Annual General Meeting, ensuring both continuity and accountability within the governance structure. The Board of Trustees convenes formally on a quarterly basis to review the charity’s strategic direction, performance, and compliance obligations. In addition to these scheduled meetings, smaller sub-committees and working groups operate throughout the year to support effective oversight. For example, a finance subgroup, comprising the Chair, Treasurer, and Chief Executive Officer, meets regularly to monitor financial performance, budgeting, and risk management. To further strengthen governance arrangements, the Board has appointed a dedicated Safeguarding Representative. Quarterly safeguarding meetings are held to ensure robust oversight of safeguarding practices, supporting both governance responsibilities and day-to-day operational effectiveness. All members of the Board of Trustees serve in a voluntary capacity and receive no remuneration or other financial benefits from the charity. **----- Start of picture text -----**

## Treasurer’s statement September 2024 - August 2025 ## **Overview** On behalf of the trustees, I present the financial review of Know Your Worth Charity for the year ended 31 August 2025, together with a comparison to the prior financial year ended 31 August 2024. This statement forms part of the Trustees’ Annual Report and has been prepared in accordance with the Charities Act 2011 and applicable accounting standards. The charity continued to operate in line with its charitable objectives throughout the year, with careful oversight of income, expenditure, and reserves to ensure financial sustainability and effective delivery of charitable activities ## **Income and Expenditure (Statement of Financial Activities)** During the year ended 31 August 2025, the charity generated income from a combination of grants, donations, and fundraising activity. Total income showed increased levels compared with the previous financial year, reflecting the focus on the esteem building training. Charitable expenditure was primarily directed towards: - Delivery of core programmes - Associated project costs - Essential governance and administrative support Any increase in expenditure from the prior year was directly attributable ‑ to programme delivery and mission related activity, in line with the charity’s objectives and public benefit requirement. ## Treasurer’s statement (Continued) ## **Balance Sheet and Financial Position** - At 31 August 2025, the charity remained in a sound financial position. - Total assets consisted primarily of cash and cash equivalents, ‑ - enabling the charity to meet its short term obligations as they fall due. - Liabilities remained low and manageable, with no long‑term debt outstanding at year end. - Net assets reflected the accumulated reserves position of the charity, showing a stable position compared with 31 August 2024. The trustees consider the balance sheet position to be appropriate for the size, activity level, and risk profile of the charity. ## **Reserves and Going Concern** The trustees have reviewed the reserves position during the year and consider that the level of reserves held at 31 August 2025 is reasonable and prudent, allowing the charity to: - Meet its ongoing commitments - Manage short‑term fluctuations in income - Respond to unforeseen events The trustees are satisfied that the charity is a going concern, with no material uncertainties that would cast doubt on its ability to continue operations for the foreseeable future. **----- Start of picture text -----**

## Treasurer’s statement (Continued) ## **Financial Controls and Risk Management** The trustees continue to maintain appropriate financial controls, including: - Budget approval and monitoring - Review of income and expenditure against plans Oversight of bank accounts and authorisations - No material weaknesses in financial management or internal controls were identified during the year. ## **Conclusion** The financial results for the year ended 31 August 2025 demonstrate that Know Your Worth Charity has continued to manage its resources responsibly while focusing expenditure on advancing its charitable purposes. The trustees believe the charity is well‑positioned to continue delivering impact in the coming year. ## **Approval** The Board of Trustees is responsible for maintaining proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charitable company and to enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Companies Act 1985. The trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144(2) of the Act and that an independent examination is required. I report in respect of my examination of the charity's accounts carried out under section 145 of the Act. In carrying out my examination, it is my responsibility to: - examine the accounts under section 145 of the Act; - follow procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners under section 145(5) (b) of the Act; and state whether any particular matters come to my attention. My examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5) (b) of the Act. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes considering any unusual items or disclosure in the accounts and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters.
