## **BSIR Report to the charities commission** :

The year 2024/25 was another successful year for the BSIR. The number of our educational events have increased and there are now two additional events to add to the educational calendar. We have also undertaken a more active role in encouraging the more junior medical cadre (medical students/ junior doctors) into the world of interventional radiology. As in the previous years, we have awarded educational and research bursaries in this financial year. We have also supported the Interventional oncology fellowship and the National Vascular Registry fellowship.

As in the previous year, we have delivered webinars in different current topics which have been very well received. We will continue this in the forthcoming years s well. We continue to encourage and work with the allied health care practitioners including nurses and radiographers.

The current team of three works well but there are plans to increase administration support in the forthcoming year. The council has opted to keep the subscription static for the forthcoming year ( 2025/26).

Again, we have collaborated with our European partners and continue to benefit from the group membership models of the Cardiovascular and interventional radiology society of Europe (CIRSE).

There are also plans for the forthcoming year to increase the research funding as appropriate.

Finally, there will be a change in the treasurer’s position with this being my final report as treasurer trustee of the BSIR. This will be taken on by Professor Hans Ulrich Laasch from Manchester who will continue to work with our excellent team and the accountants.
