## **Action on Womb Cancer Annual Report**

## **For the Year Ending 30/06/2024**

## **1. Welcome Message from our Lead Trustee, Mr Richard Hutson**

A heartfelt thank you for standing with us this year. With your support, we have been able to expand our impact by making freely available, accessible information on our new website. We have for the first time engaged with patients and their families directly through the first of our educational evenings at Maggie’s, St James’s University Hospital, and continued to champion our mission of increasing awareness of womb cancer.

## **2. Our Mission**

To provide information to the general public on womb cancer including its presentation, predisposing factors, investigations and treatments including surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and hormonal therapy. We aim to make the clinical journey understandable and accessible by providing information regarding what to expect when having ultrasound scans, MRIs or CTs. We have produced a website which is readily accessible and easy to navigate providing the above information.

## **3. Year in Review**

- Provided free clinically validated information for womb cancer sufferers and their families

- Launched our new website: htps://www.actononwombcancer.org.uk

- Held our first patient educational evening

## **4. Financial Summary**

- **Income:** £246

- **Expenses:** £396

- **Net Assets:** Sustainable and growing

## **5. Impact**

Two main areas of impact have been on increasing the accessibility of our material to inform patients and their families through the establishment of our new website. Holding our first patient evening has also enabled us to better understand the route to community engagement, and to tailor our material to meet the needs of all our stakeholders.

## **6. Our Supporters**

AWC is grateful for the support of our donors which, together with our incredible volunteers, have enabled us to create a strong base from which to grow in the next year.

## **7. Looking Ahead**

In the next year, we aim to expand our patient information programme, increase the clinically reviewed online material we offer patients, create more patient-centred evenings, take part in General Practitioner training sessions to increase awareness and create a small grant bursary scheme (two awards of £1,000) to support research into womb cancer. We also plan to take part in more active fundraising activities, including the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge.
