COOL IKIDS @ CRADOC (Cio) TRUSTEES REPORT (continued) for the perlod ending 31 July 2025 Flnancl&l Revlew Prlnciple fundlng source The Charity's principal funding source is from the fees charged to the parents of the children attending Cijol Kids @ Cradoc. In last year's Trnstee report we reported on ihe diffiGulti¢s lh Cool Kids @ Cradoc were having tying to rais¢ suificieni funds to maintain the setting. Our lack of fijnds was du¢ lo a higher llumbcr of childrcn than usual leavAng lo go to high school and fewer thildren joining us from the pre-school setting. Also a change in Ihe operating sttucture of the school had caused fewer children to join the sch(x)l and therefore there was a reduced demand for cliildcare. There was also the addilional problems of not being able to recruit a leaderlmanag¢r for the setting with the necessary qualifications as spe¢ified by the Care Inspcctoratc Wales (CIW). Also. we had an increasing number of parents not payin¥ their bills. The Trustccs atul Tr¢asurer continually looked for alternative fLmding sources and a]so rais the attendance fees to help generdte extra Tevenue. The Trustees werc also aware that our worsening financial position would escalate with the pending increase of the National Mintmum Wage and thc incrcasc in Employe National Insurance Contsibution5 from April 2025. Sadly, we were unable to raise sutTicicnt capital to re1n a sustainable business and we had also used up a high proportion of our cash resetves tying to keep the setting On. As a SuIt we had to close our childcare setting lo o'ar yrVice on the 21" February 2025. This decision was not taken lightly. The rnrnl school from which we opernted from is now having dÉfficulty remaining open due to a shortage of children att¢nding. Equipment and resources We haye purposcly waited 9 Months befor¢ We totally closed our CIltY in the hope we could have reopened. Howevcr, this is no longer a possibility due to a scarcity of suitable nwal premises and also we w¢ unable to retain our staff. We have donated mosl of our resourccs and equipment to a local scout group and a children's Q*turday llLorning club. Any remaining resowces and equipment will be dollated, via our local childcare (kvelopment officer, to other clubs in the area.
