Wolverley Tennis was set up to take over the running of the tennis facilities of Wolverley Lawn Tennis Club (an unincorporated organisation) which has been providing tennis facilities for the local population since 1952.

The Members of Wolverley Lawn Tennis Club had identified benefits in becoming a CIO, not least the potential it offered in helping to obtaining grants to improve the facilities.

There is no easy method for an unincorporated body to transition seamlessly to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation; it requires for the CIO to run in parallel with the unincorporated body, and then for that body to transfer its assets to the CIO.

The first priority for the new CIO was to obtain a bank account. For reasons the bank were unable to explain satisfactorily, it wasn't until February 2023 they actually set up the account (outside this report period). In consequence there were no financial transactions in the period to December 31st 2022

The existing elected committee of Wolverley Lawn Tennis Club were the first Trustees of the Charity and since then have been re-elected in their own right (20 February 2023).

The Trustees during the period of this report undertook various administrative and house keeping activities but agreed nothing substantial could be undertaken until it was able to operate with a bank account and Wolverley Lawn Tennis Club was prepared to initiate the transformation process.
