# **Faith and Public Integrity Network Annual Report 11 November 2024**

## **Objectives and activities**

The objective of the Faith and Public Integrity Network (FPIN) is to advance the Christian religion for the benefit of the public in accordance with its statement of faith, by developing the individual capabilities, competences, skills and understanding of Christian leaders with respect to addressing corruption and the poverty it can cause, in particular through organising webinars and consultations, and through producing or promoting publications on this topic.

The trustees have had regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit. The public benefits from the activities of FPIN because:

- Corruption harms the public.

- FPIN develops the capabilities, competences, skills and understanding of Christian leaders with respect to promoting public integrity and addressing corruption.

## **Structure, governance and management**

FPIN is constituted as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, and is governed by a constitution that is closely modelled on the Charity Commission Foundation Model Constitution.

The Trustees of FPIN are chaired by Martin Allaby, who also chairs the Trustees of FIG. The Trustees of FIG have agreed that Martin’s role as chair of FPIN will be noted as an interest and, in circumstances where it could be a conflict of interest (e.g. when FIG is considering grants to FPIN), Martin will provide any relevant information, but will then stand aside from the discussion and decision- making process.

The methods used to recruit and appoint new charity trustees are as follows:

(1) Apart from the first charity trustees, every trustee must be appointed by a resolution passed at a properly convened meeting of the charity trustees.

(2) In selecting individuals for appointment as charity trustees, the charity trustees must have regard to the skills, knowledge and experience needed for the effective administration of the CIO.
