In addition, a number of people are affiliated to the Community for various personal and historical reasons, which we warmly welcome and encourage. The constitution of the CCN (UK & Ireland) recognises the importance of these relationships and links, and allows and encourages people to become individual members of the CCN. We continue to look for a membership secretary to enable this more effectively, and a bank account was finally opened in December 2025 (outside the timeframe for this report) after many previous attempts were thwarted because of the CCN UK & Ireland’s existing and potential relationships with non-UKbased partners.
Two partners were welcomed during the reporting period: the Fellowship of Reconciliation at a ceremony as part of their annual conference alongside partners and friends such as the Anglican Pacifist Fellowship and Pax Christi, and Friends of the Holy Land . We look forward to welcoming Embrace the Middle East to the network in December 2025 and continue to remember our Christian family in the Holy Land and those whom they serve and with whom they work in what remains an extremely challenging environment.
We held a retreat in May 2025 at our partner Marygate House on Lindisfarne, in partnership with the Student Christian Movement, the Open Table Network and Augustine United Church in Edinburgh, looking at the language of the litany and how we may find ways to make it more inclusive. We aim to produce a collection of the different versions of the Litany of Reconciliation, which we continue to pray together monthly on Zoom as part of our ongoing praxis and of building relationships across the network both within the UK & Ireland and around the world.
The trustees recognise the potential for the CCN UK & Ireland, in partnership with Coventry Cathedral, to have a stronger voice in an increasingly polarised political sphere, as we seek to serve the common and public good in the context of the CCN’s priorities. We also recognise that it is not always easy to create safe spaces beyond our own “echo chambers”. This is something which we look forward to exploring at our forthcoming AGM and beyond.
To date, the charity has neither received any income nor spent any money, due to delays in opening a bank account. [This was opened on 18 December 2025, outside the reporting period].
