18. Pension commitments

The charity operates a defined contribution pension scheme. The assets of the scheme are held separately from those of the charity in an independently administered fund. The pension cost charge represents contributions payable by the charity to the fund and amounted to £4,564 (2022 - £4,256). The sum of £nil (2022: £1,603) was payable to the fund at the balance sheet date and is included in creditors.

19. Related party transactions

There were related party transactions involving three trustees during the year.

The son of D Simpson, Trustee, was employed by SFA during the year, at a cost to the charity of £15,125. He is no longer employed by the Charitable Company. As disclosed within the Trustee Remuneration note, D Simpson received an honorarium of £1,000 for his role as Chairman.

M Cole, Trustee, is a Director of a TJ Vickers, a car dealership. £3,195 was paid by SFA to T J Vickers, as lease payments for a vehicle, with £1,667 received back by SFA when the agreement was ended. TJ Vickers have also provided a van for the use of SFA. This has not been accounted for within the Statement of Financial Activites as the charity can not reliably quantify the benefit.

Expenditure of £500 was made for food for a Christmas Food Bank run by AFC Telford, of which I Preece, Trustee, is employed.
