Activities
West Somerset Food Cupboard is committed to providing emergency food for those in need without prejudice, and to developing and promoting projects and activities that promote food resilience with kindness and compassion. We operate from premises belonging to St Michael the Archangel Church in Alcombe, Minehead, where we also operate a Local Food Pantry.
Objects: The Relief Of Financial Hardship Amongst People In West Somerset And The Surrounding Area In Such Ways As The Trustees From Time-To-Time Think Fit, In Particular, But Not Exclusively By:a) Providing Emergency Food, Essential Toiletries, And Household Items To Individuals And Families In Need And/or For Distribution By Charities Or Other Organisations Working To Prevent Or Relieve Povertyb) Providing Grants, Information And Advice To Individuals In Need And/or Charities, Or Other Organisations Working To Prevent Or Relieve Food Poverty, And Addressing Surplus Food Waste;c) Undertaking And Supporting Research Into Factors That Contribute To Food Poverty And The Most Appropriate Ways To Mitigate These; And D) Such Other Means, Including (but Not Limited To) The Provision Of Support Or Signposting To Relevant Information And Other Advisory Services
