**Activities:** Akama develops higher education scholarships and sets eligibility criteria through analysing data on societal need, and where there are specific gaps, for example, students from poorer backgrounds or industries where there is under-representation. Each scholarship relates to a profession rather than a subject and students at any UK university that match the criteria may apply.
