## **Trustees Annual Report for the year ended 31st March 2024**

## **MAJOR ACTIVITIES AND ACHIEVEMENTS IN THE YEAR**

## **The purpose of Scouting**

Scouting exists to actively engage and support young people in their personal development, empowering them to make a positive contribution to society.

## **The values of Scouting**

As Scouts we are guided by these values:

**Integrity** - We act with integrity; we are honest, trustworthy and loyal.

**Respect** - We have self-respect and respect for others.

**Care** - We support others and take care of the world in which we live. **Belief** - We explore our faiths, beliefs and attitudes.

**Co-operation** - We make a positive difference; we co-operate with others and make friends.

## **The Scout Method**

Scouting takes place when young people, in partnership with adults, work together based on the values of Scouting and:

- enjoy what they are doing and have fun

- take part in activities indoors and outdoors

- learn by doing

- share in spiritual reflection

- take responsibility and make choices

- undertake new and challenging activities

- make and live by their Promise.

The Group consisted of 130 youth members covering the Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts and Scouts and Young Leaders from the Greenford District. In addition, there were adults involved as leaders or administrators - all of whom gave their services voluntarily.

The main objective for the year was to continue Scouting from the Group’s Headquarters and to fit-in as many section activities as possible. Sections have held various indoor camps\paccar events and group activities including Muslim Scout Fellowship (MSF) Jamboree/Olympics, County Campsite (PACCAR), Rock Climbing, Skiing, Kayaking, Snow Sports, Escape Hunt, Monopoly Run, Astro Nights Camp and many others. All these activities and events were planned and carried out successfully. We have also purchased the necessary equipment for the activities undertaken and will continue to be used for future camps\activities (i.e. tents).

The Group participated in events organised by the Greenford and District Scout Council and camps for the Cub and Scout sections. The Group also continued to engage with the local community with holding events, which were to invite them into the world of scouting and show them on how it benefits the youth.
