broken household items and volunteers
attempt to work with them to repair the
item for free. During the reporting period
we ran 3 Repair Cafés and saved nearly

Library of Things, SHARE: Flitwick and
Ampthill has 76 members and has loaned
150 items. Members of the community have
regularly commented upon how much
money they have saved by being able to
borrow rather than buy.
In April 2023, SHARE: Flitwick and Ampthill
ran our first Repair Café. This was very well
received by the community. We have now
run a total of 3 Repair Cafés with 73 items
looked at and a repair rate of 66%. That is
nearly 50 items saved from landfill so far!
In Autumn 2023, SHARE: Flitwick and
Ampthill was lucky enough to be offered free
storage and operating space by Flitwick
Town Council. The trustees moved the loan
items from the existing operating premises
of Flitwick Village Hall to The Rufus Centre,
Flitwick. The Library of Things now operates
between 10-12 on Saturdays from the Rufus
