## **Objectives and Activities** 

|Summary of the purposes of the<br>charity as set out in its governing<br>document|To promote social inclusion for the public benefit by preventing<br>people aged 18 and over, particularly but not exclusively older<br>men, within Cannock Chase and the surrounding area, from<br>becoming socially excluded, relieving the needs of those people<br>who are socially excluded and assisting them to integrate into<br>society through the provision of facilities in which they can meet<br>jointly or individually to learn or share skills and knowledge, and<br>support each other to undertake individual, group or local<br>community activities of a practical, creative, or social nature.|

These include local community, personal and upcycling<br>projects.|

|Contribution made by<br>volunteers.|All members are volunteers and between them fulfil a number of<br>roles including: All essential roles plus Fundraiser, Secretary, H&S,<br>purchasing committee and project co-ordinator. Trustees spend<br>many hours per week in their roles supporting Cannock Chase Shed.<br>Members meet regularly for social engagement while making,<br>mending and upcycling items for local community and personal<br>projects.|

## **Achievements and Performance** 

|Summary of the main<br>achievements of the charity,<br>identifying the difference the<br>charity’s work has made to<br>the circumstances of its<br>beneficiaries and any wider<br>benefits to the charity.|Increased membership.<br>Facilities enhanced. We opened a second premises, at the<br>Cannock Chase Enterprise Centre, which we moved into during<br>November 2023. It is a little larger and has a lot more facilities. We<br>will be able to open on more days, which gives us better working<br>conditions for members. A decision on whether to keep the<br>Museum premises open is yet to be discussed.<br>Equipment stock increased.<br>Wider range of local community groups supported.<br>Increase in funding from grants and donations.<br>More local Community Groups are coming to us for the help we can<br>offer.|

|Personal comment from<br>member|I lost my wife at the beginning of 2022 and later in the year my<br>inner motivation was declining. I joined the shed at the end of<br>January 2023 to help try and get back some of that motivation.<br>The projects I am working on for myself I could carry out at home<br>but whether I would is a different matter.<br>I thoroughly enjoy my visits to the Shed, the camaraderie, the chat,<br>the friendly banter, the help and advice freely given when needed.<br>The shed has given me something to look forward to and I have<br>hardly missed a session since I started.<br>The shed has definitely been a positive step for me.<br>RJ|
