Aims & Objectives
The Trust was set up in April 2022 as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation to take over the administration of the Registered Charity 301506 with the same name, aims and objectives.
Registered Charity 301506 was set up on 1[st] August 1923 with the aims of:
To perpetuate the memory of the award of the Victoria Cross to CAPTAIN ANGUS BUCHANAN V.C., M.C. of Coleford in the County of Gloucester on 5th April 1916 by the provision of a Recreation Ground for the inhabitants of the town of Coleford and its environs to enable the promotion of community participation in healthy recreation by the provision of facilities for playing sports and the conservation protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment.
THE TRUST RESOLVED TO CONTINUE TO ADMINISTER THE INTERESTS OF THE FOUNDATION AS CHARITY 301506 UNTIL THE END OF THAT FINANCIAL YEAR ON 31ST MARCH 2023 WHEN THE ASSETS OF CHARITY 301506 WOULD BE TRANSFERRED TO THE CIO 1198496 AND THE CHARITY 301506 CLOSED.
In consequence of this decision the Charitable Incorporated Trust 1198496 has lain dormant from its inception until the end of the financial year 31[st] March 2023.
Postscript:
CIO 1198496 took over the administration of the Charitable assets at the start of the new financial year on 1[st] April 2023 and Charity 301506 has been closed.
