Objerti¥es and arti¥ltles The Connor King Foundation Charitable Incorporated Organisation {CIO) alms as set out in its charitable objects and the Constitution are- to provide special scholarship schemes in line with Newcastle University Dental School. - The charity will be working directly with Newcastle Dental School to assist in selectiftg underpriviledged students, who may not always be able to afford expensive Univer5rty fees lo become a dentist. but have the thrivine ambition to Eo far. - The charity aims to promde support to those students who may not have the back up from family members in the most challenging of times during their studies. - The charity aims to provide support and fvnding towards those student5 who are unable to afford their fees due to poor famity backgrounds. - The Connor King Foundation will grow from strength to strength and our ambition is to add additional support features to the charity throughout the years. after many fundraising events are held and other fundraisirvg routes are tsken. For the public benefrt to promote the education (including social and physical training) of people under the age of 25 years old in such ways as the charity sees fft. sncluding by awarding to such persons scholarships. Maintenan allowances or grants. tenable at any university. college of institute of hEher or further education. Public Benefft The trustees are satisfied that they have complied with the duty in section 17 of the Charities Art 2011 to have due regards to public benefit guidance published by the Charities Commission. Achievements and perfornian¢e sin the inception of the charity various fundraising activities have been carried out to build up funds to allow us to fulfil our aims and objertives induding donatbons from raffles. great north fun. walk5. collertion tubs and wristbands. The charity also accepts donations from the general public. Finan¢•al review The income of the charity was £6.S06. with expenses being £11.073 giving a deficit for the period of £4,567. £IO.IM) in hOlarshiP grants was paid out to support 2 dental Siudents that have been identified as suitable andidates. The reserves policy is to hold sufficeni funds to allow any grants awarded io be paid in full. Running cosis are minimal. three months cosis will also be kept in reserve.
Plans for fvture peri¢xls The charity will continue to fundraise until the target funds required to carry out the objectives have been raised. Fundraising via sponsordhip for the great north run ha5 been planned for the coming year along with the annual charrtv walk. Contract5 have been made with Newcastle University Dental School to give first year scholarships to 2 first year dental students each year for another 4 years15 year in totall to support them through their studies. The students are local and fit the objectives for requirirE financial supwrt.
