The Grangewell Charitable Trust – Annual Report Year End – 30[th] November 2024

The Grangewell Charitable Trust is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation that was registered on 30[th] March 2022. A Special Resolution to change the charity name from The EW Porter & Son Charitable Trust to The Grangewell Charitable Trust was passed by the Board of Trustees on 18[th] January 2024.

The object of the charity is to:

‘To provide grants and donations for such charitable purposes, for the public benefit, that are exclusively charitable according to the laws of England and Wales as the trustees may from time to time determine, in particular but not exclusively, educational charities, charities that help young people, local charities in East Anglia and the local church’.

The charity is a Private Charitable Trust which only makes donations to other registered Charities, or projects, that support exclusively charitable purposes. The beneficiaries of donations are chosen exclusively by the Trustees. The Trustees proactively identify charities and projects to support. The Trust does not engage in any fundraising activities, and does not solicit or respond to unsolicited requests for donations.

Funding for the charity has been achieved by the trustees, and the family company, EW Porter & Son, donating and investing funds into an Investment Portfolio. The dividends, when received from the Investment Portfolio, are paid into the charity bank account on a quarterly basis. The trustees then make grants / donations to charities and organisations which fit their criteria. The Charity also received a couple of donations locally.

Details of the donations made & received in 2024 can be seen in the Transaction Accounting Record.
