## **Trustees Statement**
The Trustees are pleased to present the Annual Report of Christ Apostolic Church Household of Faith for the year ended 31 August 2026.
The year has been characterised by continued commitment to Christian ministry, responsible management of the charity’s resources and practical service to individuals and families within the church and the surrounding community. The charity has remained focused on its two principal areas of charitable work: the advancement of the Christian faith and the relief of poverty.
Our activities have included regular worship, biblical teaching, prayer, pastoral support, fellowship and community outreach. Alongside these activities, the charity has sought to respond to practical needs by providing assistance to people experiencing financial difficulty, hardship or homelessness.
The Trustees recognise that the expression of Christian faith extends beyond participation in church services. It is also reflected in the way individuals and communities respond to those in need. For this reason, compassion, generosity, encouragement and practical service have continued to shape the charity’s work during the reporting period.
The church has maintained a welcoming environment in which individuals and families can worship, receive spiritual teaching, seek prayer and develop meaningful relationships with others. Pastoral ministry has remained an important part of this work, particularly in supporting people through difficult personal, family, financial and other circumstances.
The charity has also maintained its commitment to community service. During the year, assistance was made available to people experiencing hardship, including the provision of food, clothing and financial help where appropriate. Seasonal initiatives also enabled volunteers to reach people experiencing homelessness and offer practical assistance alongside conversation, encouragement and pastoral support.
The Trustees have continued to provide oversight of the charity’s operations and finances. Particular attention has been given to ensuring that available resources are used appropriately, that activities remain consistent with the charity’s purposes and that the organisation continues to operate responsibly and transparently.
The contribution of our volunteers, members, supporters and Trustees remains invaluable. Their time, generosity, prayers and willingness to serve have enabled Household of Faith to maintain its ministry and community activities throughout the year.
As we move into the next reporting period, we remain committed to developing the ministry, strengthening its relationship with the wider community and ensuring that those who require spiritual or practical assistance continue to receive appropriate support.

## **About The Household of Faith**
Christ Apostolic Church Household of Faith is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales (Charity No. 1198431). Household of Faith seeks to provide an environment where people from different backgrounds can participate in worship, receive biblical teaching, access pastoral support and develop relationships within a Christian community.
Although the church provides a significant proportion of its services within the congregation, its charitable work is not limited to church members. Community activities and outreach are intended to respond to people according to their circumstances and needs.
The charity’s approach is based on the understanding that Christian service involves both spiritual ministry and practical compassion. Its activities therefore include worship services, prayer meetings, biblical teaching, pastoral care, fellowship, community activities and charitable outreach.
## **Charitable Objects**
The charity's principal objects are:
- To advance the Christian faith in such parts of the United Kingdom, and elsewhere, as the Trustees determine from time to time. This is achieved through the provision of public worship, prayer meetings, biblical teaching, pastoral care, and outreach within the local community.
- To prevent or relieve poverty, primarily, but not exclusively, by supporting people experiencing homelessness and others in need through the provision of food, clothing, practical assistance, and compassionate support during periods of hardship.
## **Delivering Our Charitable Purposes**
The charity fulfils its purposes through a combination of church-based ministry and community-focused activities.
Sunday worship provides a regular opportunity for members, visitors and other members of the public to participate in Christian worship, hear biblical teaching and pray together. Weekly prayer meetings provide additional opportunities for spiritual reflection, fellowship and mutual encouragement.
Pastoral care forms another important element of the charity’s ministry. Individuals and families can seek prayer, guidance and personal support when dealing with difficult circumstances.

The charity also responds to practical needs within the community. Where resources permit, assistance may include food, clothing, financial support and other essential items. People requiring additional specialist assistance may also be directed towards appropriate external services.

The charity also promotes fellowship through community gatherings, including the annual Thanksgiving celebration held in August. Such occasions provide an opportunity for members and the wider community to come together, strengthen relationships and participate in the life of the church.

During the reporting year, the charity continued to deliver activities across its two main areas of charitable purpose: Christian ministry and the relief of poverty.
The programme of activities was designed to provide opportunities for spiritual development while also responding to practical circumstances affecting individuals and families.
Regular worship, prayer, pastoral ministry and fellowship remained central to the church’s activities. These provided opportunities for people to develop their faith, receive encouragement and establish supportive relationships.
Community outreach complemented the church’s spiritual activities by enabling the charity to provide practical assistance to people facing hardship.
The Trustees maintained oversight of these activities to ensure that they remained consistent with the organisation’s charitable purposes and that available resources were used appropriately.
## **Advancing the Christian Faith**
The advancement of the Christian faith remains at the centre of Household of Faith’s work.
The charity provides opportunities for people to encounter and develop their Christian faith through worship, prayer, biblical teaching, pastoral ministry and fellowship.
Regular church services provide a setting in which individuals and families can come together to worship, study Scripture, pray and participate in the wider Christian community.
The charity also recognises that people may require spiritual encouragement outside formal worship services. Pastoral engagement, prayer and personal interaction therefore form an important part of the church’s ministry.
Through its activities, the charity seeks to encourage individuals to develop their relationship with God while creating a community characterised by care, fellowship and mutual support.
## **Public Worship and Christian Fellowship**
Weekly Sunday services remained the cornerstone of the charity's ministry and provided regular opportunities for public worship, biblical teaching, and collective prayer.

Each service brought together individuals and families from different backgrounds to worship, reflect on Scripture, and participate in a shared expression of faith. In addition to spiritual teaching, these gatherings encouraged fellowship, strengthened relationships, and created an environment in which individuals could support one another through both joyful and challenging periods of life.
The trustees recognise that places of worship often serve a wider purpose within their communities. For many attendees, regular services provide not only spiritual nourishment but also friendship, encouragement, and a sense of belonging. Maintaining an open and welcoming environment remained a priority throughout the year, ensuring that all who wished to attend were able to participate in the life of the church.
Throughout the reporting period, weekly Sunday worship services were held at The United Reformed Church Hall, Mill Lane, Chadwell Heath, Romford, RM6 6RS, every Sunday from 9:00 am to 10:30 am. The venue continued to provide an accessible and welcoming setting for public worship, biblical teaching, prayer and Christian fellowship. Beyond serving as a place of worship, it provided a space where individuals and families could build relationships, encourage one another and participate in the wider life of the church.
Alongside weekly worship, members were encouraged to become actively involved in the life of the church through volunteering, prayer, and community participation, helping to strengthen relationships and promote a culture of shared responsibility.
## **Prayer Meetings and Spiritual Development**
Wednesday prayer meetings continued to provide a dedicated opportunity for members to come together in prayer and spiritual reflection. These meetings created an environment where people could bring personal concerns, pray for one another and receive encouragement from fellow members.
Prayer remains a significant part of the charity’s Christian ministry. It provides members with an opportunity to seek God’s guidance, reflect on their circumstances and strengthen their faith.
The meetings also supported fellowship and mutual care. Individuals facing uncertainty, bereavement, financial pressures, health-related challenges or other difficult circumstances were able to receive encouragement and prayer from others.

Biblical teaching alongside prayer encouraged participants to consider how Christian principles can be reflected in everyday life, including through compassion, honesty, forgiveness, service and care for others.
## **Pastoral Care and Counselling**

Throughout the year, members of the pastoral leadership made themselves available to listen, encourage, and pray with those facing a wide range of personal circumstances.
Support was offered to individuals experiencing bereavement, ill health, family challenges, financial pressures, and other life events that required compassionate care and pastoral guidance. Through one-to-one conversations, prayer, and ongoing pastoral engagement, the church sought to create an environment where people felt heard, valued, and supported.
Recognising that some circumstances require specialist intervention, the charity also signposted individuals to appropriate external organisations where additional professional advice or services were needed. This approach ensured that people received the most appropriate support while allowing the charity to continue providing spiritual care alongside practical guidance.
Pastoral ministry is central to the charity's mission and complements its wider programme of worship, prayer, and community outreach. By walking alongside individuals during both challenging and significant moments in their lives, the charity continues to strengthen relationships, promote wellbeing, and foster a caring, compassionate community grounded in Christian values.

Supporting people experiencing homelessness remained a key expression of the charity's commitment to relieving poverty and demonstrating Christian compassion in practical ways.
During the reporting period, the charity organised seasonal outreach initiatives, with particular emphasis on activities undertaken during April and December. These periods were chosen to respond to increased levels of need and to provide practical assistance at times when many vulnerable individuals experience additional hardship.
Volunteers engaged directly with people experiencing homelessness by providing food, clothing, and other essential items intended to address immediate needs. Alongside this practical support, individuals were offered conversation, encouragement, and pastoral care, recognising that meaningful engagement extends beyond the provision of material assistance.
We believe that every individual should be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion. Accordingly, outreach activities were undertaken in a manner that sought not only to relieve immediate hardship but also to provide reassurance, restore hope, and demonstrate kindness to those who may otherwise feel overlooked or isolated.

In particular, volunteers played a vital role in preparing and delivering outreach initiatives, helping to distribute food, clothing, and other essential items to those experiencing hardship. Their contribution extended beyond practical assistance, providing encouragement, conversation, and a visible demonstration of the charity's values of compassion and service.

## **Financial Overview**
The trustees are committed to ensuring that the charity's finances are managed responsibly, transparently and in accordance with its charitable objects. Throughout the reporting period, careful financial oversight was maintained to ensure that income was applied effectively in support of the charity's programme of worship, pastoral ministry, community engagement and charitable outreach.
The charity's principal sources of income comprised voluntary donations, tithes, offerings and other contributions received in support of its charitable activities. These funds enabled the charity to continue delivering regular worship services, providing pastoral care and responding to the practical needs of individuals and families through its community outreach initiatives.
For the period covered by the accounts, the charity recorded income of £2,053.20 and expenditure of £683.00, leaving a balance of £1,370.20. A significant proportion of expenditure related to the cost of the church premises, including rent, while the remaining regular expenditure supported the ongoing operation of the charity.
The Trustees are satisfied that the charity has maintained appropriate financial oversight during the reporting period and will continue to monitor income, expenditure and available reserves to support the charity’s activities and financial sustainability.

The Board will also remain focused on responsible financial management and effective governance. Ensuring that the charity’s resources are used appropriately will continue to be a key priority.
Through these activities, Household of Faith aims to remain a supportive Christian community while continuing to respond to the practical needs of people within the wider community.
