## **Trustees Statement** 

The Trustees are pleased to present the Annual Report of Christ Apostolic Church Household of Faith for the year ended 31 August 2025. 

This report reflects another year of faithful ministry, responsible stewardship and continued service to both the church congregation and the wider community. Throughout the year, the charity remained committed to advancing the Christian faith through worship, biblical teaching, prayer, pastoral care and community outreach, while providing practical support to individuals and families experiencing hardship. 

At the Household of Faith, we believe that the Christian faith is demonstrated not only through public worship but also through acts of compassion, generosity and service. Every activity undertaken during the year sought to reflect the teachings of Jesus Christ by creating opportunities for spiritual growth, encouraging Christian fellowship and responding to the needs of those within our local communities. 

The charity continued to provide a welcoming place of worship where individuals and families could gather in faith, receive biblical teaching and participate in prayer and fellowship. Alongside its regular programme of worship, pastoral support remained an important aspect of the charity's ministry, with prayer, guidance and encouragement being made available to those facing personal, family or financial challenges. 

Community engagement also remained central to the charity's work. Through charitable outreach and practical assistance, support was provided to individuals experiencing hardship, including the distribution of food, clothing and financial assistance where appropriate. Seasonal outreach initiatives enabled the charity to extend additional support to people experiencing homelessness and others in need, reflecting its commitment to relieving poverty and promoting the wellbeing of the wider community. 

The trustees have continued to exercise careful oversight of the charity's activities and finances, ensuring that resources are managed responsibly and applied in furtherance of the charity's charitable objects. Governance, accountability and transparency remain integral to the way the charity operates, supporting effective decision-making and responsible stewardship. 

None of this would have been possible without the dedication of our trustees, volunteers, members, supporters and everyone who has contributed their time, resources and prayers throughout the year. Their commitment has enabled the charity to continue serving with compassion, integrity and faithfulness. 

As we look ahead, we remain encouraged by the opportunities to deepen the charity's ministry, strengthen community engagement and continue responding to the spiritual and practical needs of those we serve.

## **About The Household of Faith** 

Christ Apostolic Church Household of Faith is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales (Charity No. 1198431). The charity exists to advance the Christian faith and relieve poverty by providing spiritual guidance, pastoral care, and practical support to individuals and families experiencing hardship. 

The charity serves the general public and is committed to making its services accessible to people of all backgrounds, regardless of age, ethnicity, or personal circumstances. While many of its activities are delivered within the local church setting, its outreach extends into the wider community through initiatives designed to support vulnerable individuals and those facing financial or social disadvantage. 

The charity's work is underpinned by the belief that Christian faith should be demonstrated through both worship and practical service. This is reflected in a programme of regular worship services, prayer meetings, pastoral care, community engagement and charitable outreach, as well as practical assistance for people in need. 

## **Charitable Objects** 

The charity's principal objects are: 

- To advance the Christian faith in such parts of the United Kingdom, and elsewhere, as the Trustees determine from time to time. This is achieved through the provision of public worship, prayer meetings, biblical teaching, pastoral care, and outreach within the local community. 

- To prevent or relieve poverty, primarily, but not exclusively, by supporting people experiencing homelessness and others in need through the provision of food, clothing, practical assistance, and compassionate support during periods of hardship. 

## **Delivering Our Charitable Purposes** 

The charity delivers its charitable objects through a balanced programme of spiritual ministry and community support. 

Regular Sunday worship services and weekly prayer meetings provide opportunities for public worship, biblical teaching, and collective prayer, while pastoral care and counselling offer emotional and spiritual support to individuals and families facing personal challenges. 

Alongside its ministry, the charity undertakes community outreach and provides practical assistance to people experiencing hardship. Throughout the year, support is offered to individuals and families within and beyond the church through food, clothing, financial assistance, and other essential items where resources allow. Particular emphasis is placed on seasonal outreach to people experiencing homelessness, with dedicated initiatives taking place during April and December.

The charity also brings people together through community gatherings, including its annual Thanksgiving celebration held each August. This event strengthens relationships within the congregation and the wider community, encourages volunteering, and provides an opportunity to celebrate the charity's work while increasing community engagement and support for its ongoing activities. 

The charity is committed to ensuring that its resources are applied responsibly and effectively in furtherance of its charitable purposes, delivering public benefit through the advancement of the Christian faith and the relief of poverty.

## **Review of Activities** 

Throughout the year, Christ Apostolic Church Household of Faith pursued its charitable purposes by combining Christian ministry with practical action, ensuring that its work addressed both the spiritual and practical needs of the community. Every activity was guided by the charity's mission to advance the Christian faith while providing compassionate support to those experiencing hardship. 

Worship, pastoral care, community engagement, and outreach remained at the heart of the charity's work. Through these activities, individuals and families were able to access spiritual guidance, practical assistance, and opportunities to build meaningful relationships within a welcoming and supportive environment. The trustees maintained oversight of the charity's programme of activities, ensuring that its work remained aligned with its charitable objectives and responsive to the needs of the communities it serves. 

The year's activities reflected the charity's two principal charitable purposes: advancing the Christian faith through public worship, prayer, biblical teaching, and pastoral ministry, and relieving poverty through community outreach and the provision of practical support to individuals and families facing hardship. 

## **Advancing the Christian Faith** 

Advancing the Christian faith is the central purpose of Christ Apostolic Church Household of Faith and underpins every aspect of the charity's work. Through public worship, prayer, biblical teaching, and pastoral ministry, the charity provides opportunities for individuals and families to grow in their faith, strengthen their relationship with God, and become part of a supportive Christian community. 

Regular worship services brought together members of the congregation, visitors, and those exploring the Christian faith in an open and welcoming environment. Alongside biblical teaching and corporate worship, these gatherings encouraged fellowship, strengthened relationships, and created opportunities for individuals to receive spiritual encouragement and support. 

The charity's ministry extends beyond weekly services. Through prayer, pastoral care, and ongoing engagement with members of the congregation and the wider community, individuals were supported during periods of personal difficulty, while others found encouragement, guidance, and a renewed sense of belonging within the life of the church. 

By creating opportunities for worship, discipleship, and Christian fellowship, the charity continued to fulfil its charitable object of advancing the Christian faith while fostering a community founded on compassion, service, and mutual care.

## **Public Worship and Christian Fellowship** 

Weekly Sunday services remained the cornerstone of the charity's ministry and provided regular opportunities for public worship, biblical teaching, and collective prayer. 

Each service brought together individuals and families from different backgrounds to worship, reflect on Scripture, and participate in a shared expression of faith. In addition to spiritual teaching, these gatherings encouraged fellowship, strengthened relationships, and created an environment in which individuals could support one another through both joyful and challenging periods of life. 

The trustees recognise that places of worship often serve a wider purpose within their communities. For many attendees, regular services provide not only spiritual nourishment but also friendship, encouragement, and a sense of belonging. Maintaining an open and welcoming environment remained a priority throughout the year, ensuring that all who wished to attend were able to participate in the life of the church. 

Throughout the reporting period, weekly Sunday worship services were held at The United Reformed Church Hall, Mill Lane, Chadwell Heath, Romford, RM6 6RS, every Sunday from 9:00 am to 10:30 am. The venue continued to provide an accessible and welcoming setting for public worship, biblical teaching, prayer and Christian fellowship. Beyond serving as a place of worship, it provided a space where individuals and families could build relationships, encourage one another and participate in the wider life of the church. 

Alongside weekly worship, members were encouraged to become actively involved in the life of the church through volunteering, prayer, and community participation, helping to strengthen relationships and promote a culture of shared responsibility. 

## **Prayer Meetings and Spiritual Development** 

Regular Wednesday prayer meetings continued to provide an important opportunity for collective prayer, spiritual reflection, and mutual encouragement. 

These gatherings created space for individuals to share personal concerns, pray together, and support one another through life's challenges. Prayer remained central to the charity's ministry, providing opportunities for members to seek spiritual guidance, develop their faith, and strengthen relationships within the church community. 

The trustees recognise that regular prayer meetings contribute to emotional resilience and community wellbeing by creating supportive networks in which individuals feel able to seek encouragement during periods of uncertainty, ill health, bereavement, or financial difficulty. Alongside collective prayer, biblical teaching encouraged participants to apply Christian principles in their daily lives, promoting values of compassion, integrity, forgiveness, and service to others.

## **Pastoral Care and Counselling** 

Pastoral care forms an integral part of the charity's ministry, providing individuals and families with spiritual guidance, prayer, and personal support during times of difficulty. Throughout the year, members of the pastoral leadership made themselves available to listen, encourage, and pray with those facing a wide range of personal circumstances. 

Support was offered to individuals experiencing bereavement, ill health, family challenges, financial pressures, and other life events that required compassionate care and pastoral guidance. Through one-to-one conversations, prayer, and ongoing pastoral engagement, the church sought to create an environment where people felt heard, valued, and supported. 

Recognising that some circumstances require specialist intervention, the charity also signposted individuals to appropriate external organisations where additional professional advice or services were needed. This approach ensured that people received the most appropriate support while allowing the charity to continue providing spiritual care alongside practical guidance. 

Pastoral ministry is central to the charity's mission and complements its wider programme of worship, prayer, and community outreach. By walking alongside individuals during both challenging and significant moments in their lives, the charity continues to strengthen relationships, promote wellbeing, and foster a caring, compassionate community grounded in Christian values. 

## **Relief of Poverty and Community Outreach** 

Supporting individuals and families experiencing hardship remained a central focus of the charity's work throughout the year. Guided by its charitable objectives, the charity provided practical assistance to those facing financial hardship and social disadvantage, ensuring that its resources were directed towards areas of greatest need and community benefit. 

The continued impact of economic uncertainty and rising living costs placed increasing pressure on many households within the communities served by the charity. In response, practical assistance was provided to help address immediate needs while treating every individual with compassion, dignity and respect. 

Support was available to individuals both within the church congregation and the wider community, reflecting the charity's commitment to serving people based on need. Assistance was tailored to individual circumstances, enabling the charity to respond appropriately to those experiencing financial hardship, personal crisis or other challenging situations. 

Practical support included the provision of food, clothing and financial assistance, together with pastoral care, prayer and signposting to other organisations where additional specialist support was required. This holistic approach enabled the charity to respond not only to immediate practical needs but also to provide encouragement, reassurance and ongoing pastoral care during difficult periods.

By combining practical assistance with compassionate pastoral support, the charity continued to fulfil its charitable object of relieving poverty while helping to strengthen the wellbeing, dignity and resilience of those it served. 

## **Community Engagement and Fellowship** 

Alongside its programme of worship and outreach, the charity continued to promote community cohesion by creating opportunities for people to come together in an atmosphere of fellowship, mutual encouragement, and shared purpose. 

Community gatherings formed an important part of the charity's work throughout the year, providing opportunities for individuals and families to develop relationships, strengthen existing connections, and participate more fully in community life. These occasions encouraged interaction across different age groups and backgrounds, helping to foster a welcoming environment where people felt valued, supported, and included. 

We understand that social isolation can have a significant impact on individual well-being. By providing regular opportunities for fellowship and community participation, our charity sought to create a supportive network in which individuals could build meaningful relationships, access informal support, and contribute positively to the life of the church and the wider community. 

These gatherings also provided opportunities for volunteers to become actively involved in the charity's work, strengthening community ownership of its mission and encouraging a shared commitment to serving others. 

## **Outreach to People Experiencing Homelessness** 

Supporting people experiencing homelessness remained a key expression of the charity's commitment to relieving poverty and demonstrating Christian compassion in practical ways. 

During the reporting period, the charity organised seasonal outreach initiatives, with particular emphasis on activities undertaken during April and December. These periods were chosen to respond to increased levels of need and to provide practical assistance at times when many vulnerable individuals experience additional hardship. 

Volunteers engaged directly with people experiencing homelessness by providing food, clothing, and other essential items intended to address immediate needs. Alongside this practical support, individuals were offered conversation, encouragement, and pastoral care, recognising that meaningful engagement extends beyond the provision of material assistance. 

We believe that every individual should be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion. Accordingly, outreach activities were undertaken in a manner that sought not only to relieve immediate hardship but also to provide reassurance, restore hope, and demonstrate kindness to those who may otherwise feel overlooked or isolated.

The trustees recognise that the charity's work would not be possible without the generosity and commitment of its volunteers. 

Throughout the year, volunteers gave their time to support worship services, community gatherings, and outreach activities, while also assisting with the practical organisation of the charity's programmes. Their willingness to serve enabled the charity to maintain regular activities despite operating with limited financial and human resources. 

In particular, volunteers played a vital role in preparing and delivering outreach initiatives, helping to distribute food, clothing, and other essential items to those experiencing hardship. Their contribution extended beyond practical assistance, providing encouragement, conversation, and a visible demonstration of the charity's values of compassion and service.

## **Financial Overview** 

The trustees are committed to ensuring that the charity's finances are managed responsibly, transparently and in accordance with its charitable objects. Throughout the reporting period, careful financial oversight was maintained to ensure that income was applied effectively in support of the charity's programme of worship, pastoral ministry, community engagement and charitable outreach. 

The charity's principal sources of income comprised voluntary donations, tithes, offerings and other contributions received in support of its charitable activities. These funds enabled the charity to continue delivering regular worship services, providing pastoral care and responding to the practical needs of individuals and families through its community outreach initiatives. 

Expenditure during the year reflected the charity's ongoing commitment to advancing the Christian faith and relieving poverty. Resources were directed towards the delivery of church services, operational costs, charitable outreach and the provision of practical support, including food, clothing and financial assistance for individuals experiencing hardship. Seasonal outreach initiatives, particularly those supporting people experiencing homelessness, also formed an important part of the charity's expenditure.

## **Governance, Structure, and Management** 

Christ Apostolic Church Household of Faith is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) governed by its Constitution and regulated by the Charity Commission for England and Wales. 

The charity is governed by a Board of Trustees, which has overall responsibility for its strategic direction, governance and effective management. Acting collectively, the Board ensures that the charity pursues its charitable objects, complies with its legal and regulatory obligations, and applies its resources in a manner that delivers public benefit. 

Board meetings are held regularly to oversee the charity's activities, review financial performance and consider matters relating to governance, safeguarding, risk management and future priorities. Decisions are reached collectively, with trustees exercising independent judgement and acting at all times in the best interests of the charity. 

Effective governance remains central to the charity's operation. The Board maintains oversight of the charity's finances, policies and activities, ensuring that appropriate controls are in place and that resources are managed responsibly, transparently and in accordance with the charity's governing document.

Building on the work undertaken during the year, the Board will continue to advance the Christian faith through public worship, prayer, pastoral care and community outreach while responding to emerging needs within the communities it serves. 

The trustees will seek to broaden community engagement by encouraging greater participation in the charity's activities, welcoming new volunteers and developing opportunities to strengthen relationships with residents and partner organisations. Particular emphasis will continue to be placed on providing practical support to individuals and families experiencing hardship through food provision, clothing assistance, pastoral care and seasonal outreach initiatives. 

Alongside its programme of charitable activities, the Board will continue to strengthen governance arrangements, maintain effective financial stewardship and ensure that the charity's resources are applied responsibly in furtherance of its charitable objectives. These priorities will support the charity's ongoing mission of serving the community with compassion, integrity and Christian witness.
