## **Objectives and Activities** 

The Themis Foundation’s mission is to support victims of financial crime, with a focus on modern slavery, human trafficking, and exploitation. The Foundation provides grants to aligned charities, advocates for victims, and promotes awareness of financial crime’s impact globally. 

The trustees confirm they have had regard to the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit in planning and carrying out the charity's activities. The trustees are committed to maintaining independence in charitable activities while engaging meaningfully with corporate donors. This includes transparent fund allocation, diversifying funding sources, and leveraging donor expertise without compromising the Foundation’s objectives. 

## **Achievements and Performance** 

## 1. **Strategic Development** : 

   - The trustees have initiated research into areas where the Foundation can have the greatest impact. 

2. **Fundraising** : 

   - The Foundation received £5,000 in donations during the year. Fundraising pages on platforms such as JustGiving were established to enhance accessibility and transparency. 

## 3. **50 Million Steps Challenge** : 

- The Foundation collaborated with Themis on the 50 Million Steps Challenge to raise awareness and funds for modern slavery victims. Participants collectively aimed for 50 million steps by Anti-Slavery Day (18 October), raising significant funds and promoting engagement. 

## 4. **Stakeholder Engagement** : 

- A 'Lunch and Learn' session was held to discuss progress and plans. This session was key to engaging donors and stakeholders. 

## 5. **Collaboration with Themis** : 

- Themis provided access to infrastructure such as CRM tools, due diligence platforms, and marketing support. The Foundation also utilised Themis’ network to share progress and build awareness.

## **Governance and Structure** 

The Themis Foundation is governed by a board of trustees, responsible for setting strategy and ensuring the charity complies with its legal obligations. Hope Sherwin stepped down as Chair, and Gavin Lockhart-Mirams assumed the role. 

## **Plans for the Future** 

1. Expand research into high-impact charitable funding opportunities in line with the mission is to support victims of financial crime. 

2. Build engagement with donors through regular newsletter updates and interactive sessions. 

3. Understand how donation of services (including but not limited to fundraising support) can be of most benefit/have the greatest social impact. 

4. Broaden the donor base and reduce reliance on single funding sources.
