2. TRUSTEES’ REPORT


The Trustees present their Report and accounts for the year. The accounts have been prepared on a receipts and payments basis.

2.1 STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT OF THE CHARITY

2.1.1 Governing Document

The charity is governed by its ConsStuSon dated 29th March 2022.

2.1.2 Structure and RelaHonship

Holy Trinity Community Hub (“The Hub”) is a CIO. The Hub was registered as a charity on 29th March 2022. The Hub began as a joint venture in eastern Oswestry between Holy Trinity Parish Church and Holy Trinity Church of England Academy.

2.1.3 OrganisaHonal Management

The administraSon and management of The Hub is carried out by a board of trustees, who are the members. The Board must have a minimum of three members and a maximum of 12. Trustees are appointed for a period of three years. The Trustees meet when necessary and are responsible for all the acSviSes and financial ma]ers of The Hub.

2.1.4 Recruitment and Training of Trustees

Trustees of the charity are appointed by a Trustees' meeSng. Trustees, who must be commi]ed to the objects of the charity, are recruited from supporSng churches and organisaSons. A package of informaSon on Trustee responsibility and relevant policies is provided. None of the Trustees has any beneficial interest in the company.

2.1.5 Risk Management

The Trustees are responsible for the management of the risks faced by the charity. The controls used include:

It is recognised that systems can only provide reasonable but not absolute assurance that major risks have been adequately managed.

2.1.7 Financial Control

The Trustees fulfil their responsibiliSes regarding accounSng requirements and financial control by each year consulSng the Charity Commission advice to ensure that all controls are in place that are relevant to the Hub. No level of reserves is currently set due to the current absence of any liabiliSes.

2.2 OBJECTS AND ACTIVITIES

2.2.1 Charitable Objects

The charity's objects, as set out in its ConsStuSon, are: to advance the ChrisSan religion among people from the community of Holy Trinity Church of England Academy & Nursery, Oswestry and the ecclesiasScal parish of Oswestry Holy Trinity by providing and assisSng in the provision of faciliSes supplemental to those provided by Oswestry Holy Trinity Parish Church; and to further or benefit residents of the same community, without disSncSon of sex, sexual orientaSon, race or of poliScal, religious or other opinions by associaSng together the said residents and the local authoriSes, voluntary and other organisaSons in a common effort to advance educaSon and to provide faciliSes in the interests of social welfare for recreaSon and leisure Sme occupaSon with the objecSve of improving the condiSons of life for the residents.

2.2.2 Aims, including public benefit

The Trustees have paid due regard to guidance issued by the Charity Commission including that on public benefit, including specific guidance on chariSes established for the advancement of religion. In general the aim of the Hub is to improve the condiSons of life in every possible aspect for members of the community. It is our ethos that advancing the ChrisSan religion is an essenSal part of this work alongside all the Hub's other work.

2.3 ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE

2.3.1 Since the registraSon of the Hub on 29th March 2022, the trustees have been working to secure a premises for the work of the Hub. This remains our priority and it has not been possible to fulfil any other acSviSes of the Hub without this building. No other acSviSes have been undertaken during the period.

2.4 FUTURE PLANS 2023

2.4.1 To secure a building and then seek the necessary funding to begin the pracScal acSviSes of the Hub.
