Trustees Annual Report & Statement of Financial Activity for the period 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2025

1. Introduction

1.1 Charitable Objects

To provide support to those in our community during their time of need. The group

will be run as a not for profit organization and will help others without judgement.

1.2 Overview (Executive Summary)

We are a community charity who provide support across South Essex. We are a non-judgemental, non-discriminatory group who rely solely on donations, with support primarily in the form of food parcels. The group has a varied network of supporters, ranging in nature from private to corporate. A network of General Practitioners and Social workers also interact with the group, helping us to identify and become alerted to those in need of our help on a regular basis.

Our future plans are to expand our existing operations, aiming to support as many families as possible who would otherwise not have the means to access the goods that we provide: namely food, drink and household items. We have seen so many positive outcomes and changes to lives of the individuals and families that we have/ continue to support, and however small, every donation makes a difference.

2. Activities & Achievements

2.1 Outputs & Outcomes

A little bit about our charity: what it is that we do, how we started and our journey, but before that I would just like to thank each and everyone that supports us; as we say all the time at Bobby’s big heart, if we all do a little, together we have a lot.

BBH started years ago Christmas 2017. The idea was born from Yolanda’s son, Bobby’s desire to share his toys with poor children at Christmas. Bobby couldn’t understand why Santa didn’t bring presents to children who were poor, and asked me if he could give some of his toys to those children who would wake up to nothing on Christmas morning.

It had always been Yolanda’s dream to start a charity, so she set up BBH to help struggling families at Christmas time. It took the best part of 18 months to build peoples trust, and we started to diversify into food parcels so that we could provide support all year round. Alongside the admin team, we work to support families not only with food parcels or seasonal gifts, but also through provision of mental health and domestic violence related support, as well as being in contact with social workers and other practitioners in the mental health and well-being field whom we draw upon as needed. We have provided over 10000 food parcels in the last years alone, and it hasn’t always been easy! From heartbreaking stories to non stop deliveries, the entire admin team wouldn’t change a second of it, running this charity and seeing it grow the way it has, is a dream come true.

We help, on average, 85 families per week, and rely on donations from local businesses, schools and residents to keep our food bank functional. We couldn’t do it without the generosity of so many of our supporters, namely:

And that is just to name a few! The support we have receive all year round is truly astonishing, and is a credit to the ability of humankind to unite in times of need. Last year we helped634 families by providing Christmas presents, and are on target to help even more this year.

The money raised through donations, grants and fundraising will go towards furthering the objectives of the group, enabling us to continue to provide food parcels in the year ahead to those in need of a helping hand to get back on their feet.

April 2022 saw us achieve Charity status as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) opening further opportunities for support from the commercial sector.

2.4 Looking Ahead

A further community f was planned for 2026 supported by Mo to generate both awareness and donation opportunities however following the unexpected passing of Alan Brown this may be put on hold.

Access to sustainable commercial sector support and regular donations is key to supporting the groups long term vision with talks of recession and the cost of living crisis impacting more families.
