**Objects:** FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT, TO ADVANCE THE SCIENCE OF GEOLOGY AND TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN GEOLOGY, BY:• PROMOTING AND DISSEMINATING THE IMPORTANCE OF PRESERVING AND PROTECTING GEOLOGICAL COLLECTIONS AS RECORDS OF THE HISTORY OF THE EARTH, TO ENABLE THEIR USE AS EDUCATIONAL GEOLOGICAL RESOURCES;• PROMOTING THE IMPORTANCE OF USING GEOLOGICAL COLLECTIONS IN SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH, EDUCATION AND THE ENRICHMENT OF SOCIETY IN GENERAL, AND DISSEMINATING THE RESULTS THROUGH PUBLICLY AVAILABLE ARTICLES AND RESOURCES;• IMPROVING STANDARDS IN GEOLOGICAL COLLECTIONS, INCLUDING THOSE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, BY PROVIDING PROFESSIONAL RESOURCES, TRAINING AND OTHER SUPPORT TO THE PERSONS CURATING OR ARRANGING SUCH COLLECTIONS;• SUCH OTHER MEANS AS THE CHARITY TRUSTEES MAY DETERMINE.

**Activities:** Advocates for and disseminates information about geological collections, museums, curation etc. Holds meetings, seminars, workshops, field trips to bring together professionals in this field, to share and promote best practice. Gives advice on geological matters to individuals and government bodies. Publishes regular newsletter and journal and distributes to profession.
