The Trust assists the Cathedral Chapter in maintaining the fabric of the Cathedral, advancing education in the role of the Church and the history of the Cathedral, and meeting the costs of maintaining the choral tradition. The Trust also assists in promoting the development of the Cathedral.

Objects: 3.1 The Objects For Which The Charity Is Established (Objects) Are:3.1.1 The Advancement Of Religion For The Benefit Of The General Public In Accordance With The Rites Of The Church Of England;3.1.2 The Advancement Of Heritage For The Benefit Of The Public By Supporting The Preservation, Restoration, Maintenance, Repair And Improvement Of The Fabric And Contents Of Bristol Cathedral And Its Precincts;3.1.3 The Advancement Of Education Of The General Public In The Role And The History Of The Church Of England And Of Bristol Cathedral;3.1.4 The Advancement Of Music By Supporting The Provision And Promotion Of Music And The Anglican Choral Tradition At Bristol Cathedral For The Benefit Of The Public; And3.1.5 Such Charitable Purposes Connected With Supporting The Charitable Work Of Bristol Cathedral As The Trustees Shall In Their Absolute Discretion Determine.
